When did you last attend a meeting?

Well, it's been ummm, 3 days for me. Went to a meeting on Friday night. Can't miss those Friday night meetings! I used to go every night, but sobriety has given me the ability to go to college, so I've had to slow down the meetings, so I can study my @** off! Still sponsoring though, gotta' give away what was so freely given to me.

Being in South Florida, my home group is Monday nights right on the beach...
It is a Big Book meeting, so we have a lantern, flashlights, the moon and the sea to add to our serenity...:)
So last night!...lol
And Bill, remember that it was going to meetings that enabled you to get to college...;-)
Easy does it!

Wow, a meeting on the beach by lantern light (and moonlight) that sounds freaking AWESOME! I used to live in Largo, FL, my home group was the Serenity Club in Clearwater, 20+ years ago. I visited my old group last year and the place was the same after a 20 year absence, good sobriety and still adherents of the Big Book.

It's been about 2 months for me and I can really feel it. I've woken up every day the last week with that dread in the pit of my stomache. I got sober the first time at 26 and stayed sober for 12 years, only going to meetings for the first year. I relapsed at 38 and it was hell getting clean again. I am 100% living proof that this is a progressive disease - it was like I'd never quit - so many "yets" came so fast. I know now that for me it will be a lifestyle - I must keep going to meetings and working the steps to be "ok". I'm going to a nooner today. It's funny, I feel like I've been skipping school or something - I know I'll be glad I'm there once I am, but it's hard to get moving in the right direction.
btw - I'll have 6 months dec 11

Hi Bill77094
Its been since Saterday since I've been to a meeting. I'm getting ready to go to one right now at my home group. Been looking forward to it all day. Sat. to Tues. is the longest stretch I have during the week. Wed. were having a soup supper meeting then Thurs. another home group then back to Sat. About 4 a week is what I need. I look forward to each of them. I got pretty excited last night when I found this group and probably made a fool of myself. Oh well, I'm SOBER and that is all that counts.

Ugg! I had to miss my home group tonight also:( Had to stay home and clean all the white woodwork and doors in my house because it's my turn to host Christmas dinner for the family this year. Leaving for our vacation condo in Key Largo on Sunday, so I probably won't get to a meeting till Monday. Gonna be cold down there, but not as bad as up here.

I know exactly what you are feeling, its the same feeling I had a few weeks ago when I found this group!!!!:):2cool:
Glad you are here as its been pretty quiet over the holidays. I just got back from my home group meeting. We are trying to decide where we are going for New Years Eve. There are 3 groups in the area that are having pot luck and meetings after, then games till midnight. One is having a meeting at mid night. :vapor:

Don't feel bad! I did the exact same thing and, while a bit boring, was OK. This night really keeps it green for me, as I was always a New Year's Eve party animal...drinking champagne straight from the bottle(a lot of it!) and being horribly/incapacitated hungover the next day. Didn't really even feel like going out to dinner because I really don't like being around large crowds of people who are drinking. Not to mention the fact that this is the most dangerous night of the year for driving!

GG's? doin ok, tired as hell right now. having an "old peoples new years". sitting here doing absolutely nothing.

Are you still really doing the Golden Greeks? Wait, that didn't sound right....

Went to my clubhouse last night, and played board games with the youngsters. I've got a couple of friends with a little time on me that play trivial pursuit. Enrico cheats like a ......., Julia knows he is and can't prove it, and it drives her INSANE. Oh my God, it is better than pay per view cable specials. My 14 year old daughter enjoys watching it so much that she comes along now.

I'm trying to get her to secretly pull out her cell phone and video it, so we can put it on you tube. It is so hilarious, that Julia is going to be the next big you tube/internet meme, she just doesn't know it yet. My goal is for her to be walking down the supermarket and young people turn to her and say "OH MY GOD! YOU'RE ANGRY TRIVIAL PURSUIT GAL!".
