When should you consider a repair kit?

I have a rebuild kit - springs - screws - buttons galore and everything! I make gaskets all day - if i cannot make one then i will silently walk outside and hang myself from the nearest tree!

I have melted a few pins - but thru sparking from the firing pin and not shorts in an atty. Now i just Noalox the crap out of them and don't worry about it!

Up until recently I over noaloxed to the point of buttons getting a little sluggish requiring a disassemble and physical removal of excess noalox. It doesn't wash off easily even with my very hottest tap water. I'm not aware of ever having any sparking. Maybe I need to spend more time in closet with REO door off and a mirror. DH already thinks I'm a bit crazy. Wonder what he'll have to say about my closet activities.

BTW... the lowest ohms I ever vaped until RBAs was an occasional factory atty close to 1.1 ohm. I've played with sub-ohm but none of my juices "like" much less than 1.3 ohms on mechanical. They really come out at 2.0 on mechanical but too cool for me.

Hmm, I'm going to try the noalox under the spring technique. Also gonna try the alcohol dip. Thanks Alice.

I don't like to go below 1.3 ohms either. That's what my latest coil is reading and it's vaping pretty great. I'm still concerned about my .55 V drop under load with a fresh batt and clean mod though. I think I'm just going to get the repair kit as I've realized with your guys' posts it can't hurt to have one lying around just in case. I had gotten cocky with my rebuilds and hasn't really considered the possibility of a short on my RM2 and a consequent spring collapse. Would suck a substantial one if I don't have some backup.

Edit: I just realized on my OP that I said something about a 0.2V drop not being a big deal... that was worded weird and it looks like I'm saying a 0.2V drop between loaded and unloaded. I meant to say 0.2 difference between my two mods. I'm actually getting a 0.55V drop between loaded and unloaded on my REO, which is more than what ppl are saying they're getting.
