For me? I vape as much as I want.. anything to stay off of the analogs. Chain vaped like a lunatic for the first few months and now find myself going longer and longer without. I'm in no rush to reduce the mg for the moment and switch between 18-24 mgs. I find that w/ 24mg I vape a bit less so guess that my body "gets" when I've gotten enough nic and I forget about it for a few minutes.

WEll, I have been off cigs for 6 weeks now, smoke 2 packs of camel for almost 30 years. I agree on the "vape as much as you want in the beginning, but I am having trouble reducing my nic contents...., as I also want to gradually phase out vaping at some time. but every time I reduce the nic from 18 to 9, I am getting nervous and once I gt my 18mg hits, I am fine...

18 to 9 may be too big of a jump for you. I DIY, so reducing my nic very gradually (2 mg at a time) is as easy as adjusting my recipe. You could try ordering both 18 and 9 mg bottles of your favorites and custom mixing them yourself to lower your nic more gradually.

For example, if you mixed them half and half, you'd have 13.5 mg/ml. Different ratios could allow you to step down more gradually if you wanted to.

Having an ecig right next to you is an invitation to keep vaping. Make yourself walk to get to it. Stand there and vape and walk away.

I'm still at 24mg, but plan to drop in 6mg increments. Drugs double or cut in half generally as dosage is adjusted. It apparently takes twice or half as much to make a difference. I would think that applies to nicotine, but we would probably want to increment in smaller changes so that we don't notice a drastic change as we move downward.

I find that vaping at 24mg's suits me best these days. When I was vaping at lower doses, I would find myself really chain vaping to get my "I'm good" feeling. So I uped my Mg's to 30 and with certain juices that is pretty good for me, but I find that not all juice venders are alike and some vendors 30mg is really lacking in flavor as some vendors 36 mg tastes just about as good as their 18mg.

So to find my best balance of flavor and nicotine, I find that 24 Mg's seems to be that perfect mix for me. At 24mgs I find that I can take 2 long pulls and I will be good for
About 30 mins or so. Sometimes less, sometimes more.

That varies a lot, just like anything else related to smoking and vaping.
I used to finish a cigarette in eight drags, but I've heard of people who get 15 drags.

Yeah, I use to go outside and light an analog up at the same time as somebody else, and I would just engulf the thing. I'm done with my analog, and my buddy/co-worker/or whoever it may be, is not even half way through theirs. I killed the analogs, long hard drags. Don't miss those days at all.

Have had my kit for almost 3 days. Im like a train. If these things were smoke id rival the little engine that could. Im trying to quit dipping though. Nasty habit but with a harder nicotine hit than smoking. I think im gonna slow down soon. im noticing the dry mouth people have talked about, but no head aches. BP is still perfect and no heart issues. Do notice at times a little buzz, if I hit it hard for a bit. Havent had one of those in a LONG time. Last time I tried to quit the chew was almost 12 years ago. i put it down for a month and when I grabbed a cigar after a really bad night at work I had to pull over the buzz was so big. Nothing like that has happened but still wasnt expecting it. I think the dry mouth is the biggest PIA Ive noticed.

Apparently, Yes, everything we think of, someone else has already thought of!

Electronic Cigarette With Vibration (EGO) - China Ego Electronic Cigarette,Joye Ego E-Cigarette,Ego Cigarette in Health Care Appliance

Edit: Add Text

" The advantage of Vibration EGO compare with other EGO

1, Vibration reminding function: We add a motor to the EGO, after every 15 puffs(1 cigarette), there will be a vibration to remind you stop smoking for a while. And the vibration frequence can be programmed, such as every 10 puff or 12 puffs /vibrations etc. "

Relax, Enjoy!

Interesting thread. Since I'm new to this I'll throw out some of my own thoughts.

I'm concerned about actually increasing my level of nicotine addiction so I'm trying not to vape as much as I want. Ultimately I'd like to give it up altogether, but that's not a long term goal rather than something I expect to happen anytime very soon.

I'm finding that I go longer between drags but still don't ever feel that I'm "done". I'm not sure what dripping is but it sounds to me somewhat analogous to having to roll your own cigarette each time you smoke. I really don't want vaping to be any more complicated or more trouble than lighting up an analog.

I may try counting drags but that seems tedious to me and I'd rather not have my attention focused on it instead of whatever else I may be doing.

I had actually thought about bringing up this question here, but as I suspected there really doesn't to see any one-size fits all answer.

The vibration feedback seems like a good idea especially since it can be programmed but doesn't to seem to be a widespread or common feature. I may also try timing.

If I figure out something that works well for me, I'll post back with the results.

I've been vaping for a few months, after having smoked analogs for over 40 years. I was a chain smoker. Now I'm a chain vaporer. The morning phlemy cough is gone (which started a couple years ago after a bad case of bronchitis.) It's amazing! I never thought I'd be able to quit or cut back on cigarettes, but I see that it's possible. Every day, however, I still light up an analog first thing while waiting for the coffee to brew...but after about 2 drags I put it out and grab my a pv. Not sure why I still do this, other than the fact that I have not thrown out my analogs, and don't intend to yet...LOL In the back of my mind I'm thinking I might get annoyed with batteries failing, carto leaking, etc. and the fact that this new vaping habit is costing a larger chunk of $$, at least so far  I really love all the different flavors that I can vape and experiment with so I'm not bored with it, but, getting my gear ready to take to work everyday makes it take longer to get ready for work. (Did that make sense?) I don't intend to quit vaping for the main fact that my cough is gone and my voice isn't so raspy anymore. :D
I don't have a desk job, so no access to battery charging etc. I have a small locker (big enough to hold my purse and extra bottle of water. My purse, however, has grown, now that I carry what seems like tons of vaping paraphenalia :p Actually, just the PCC, extra cartomizers, clearomizers, juice and batteries in case any or all fail or get used up during my work shift  ? :vapor:

I started vaping b/c of all the side effects of analogs. I had tried everything else, and failed miserably. I decided to try vaping just to see if it worked. It did work, amazingly.
So, I originally set out with the plan of vaping progressively less amounts of nicotine, until 0mg. Then quit altogether. That plan has so far failed for 2 reasons - cheaper, and healthier. This has also led to the opposite outcome of what I wanted. I find myself vaping more and more. Which leads me t "when am I done?"

This usually takes 3-4 strong hits every 30 minutes to an hour. Then, I HAVE to put down my device, or I'll keep vaping it, possibly to the point of feeling shaky, or woozy.. It's kind of like drinking alcohol. If you usually drink X amount on a normal outing, you know you're asking for it if drink more than X amount.

I think knowing when to quit, just comes from experience. And cheers to hoping we all don't so addicted to nicotine that our limits end up being wearing 24/7 gas masks. lol

Really interesting thread/question! I too have thought about this one a lot. I think maybe everyone's approach is different?

I started vaping in late Feb. It is only recently I have started thinking about how to cut back or stop. And the only reason really it entered my brain at all was because I realized certain things, such as typing/research etc I was vaping constantly (in the same way I used to work from home and run outside to smoke). BC of that I am about to begin using non nicotine eliquid as a replacement when I am working, at shows, with smoker friends hanging out, etc. I figure its when I am doing those things that I likely take in too much nicotine so I will self placebo it, if that makes sense. BUT that is my personal solution and not sure if it works for others-just throwing it out there though!

As for quitting all together... I am on the fence. I personally don't ever want to be in a position where I gave up vaping, end up fiending and reach for a real cig again. So I am hoping to just get to a point where my ecig isn't a daily crutch (?) and just comes out when I need it-IE around smokers, etc. Who knows bc I sure am not there yet being only 3 months in LOL. But I think the longer we are away from cigs the less we hold our old habits and it all kind of fades out of our daily routine. Yeah well, in theory anyhow :)

So much of our habit is oral or habit-which we all know I think. So if there is really a concern over the actual nicotine addiction than I say focus on less mgs and a weaker hitting ecig to get to that point. OK that is just my opinion which may or may not mean a thing. Once again, just throwing that out there!

good question. maybe a number of puffs? How many puffs do people normally get from a cigarette?

I get about 15 puffs (lasts about 10 mintues) from my Nat Sherman Hint (100% all natural, no chemical additives it says on the label and yet probably as harmful as the other kinds)....been smoking them for years, before that Winstons for about 40 years! Now that I'm vaping, I do the chain vape thing. I stop when I have to (at work for instance) or when I go to bed LOL.

Great thread!

I can be sensitive to nicotine levels in my body, and i'm on 24mg right now. I can feel when I've had enough nicotine and I take a break for a while, even when I have the desire to keep vaping. I'm considering keeping a zero on me too, so when I just want to vape for the sake of vaping I can do that without over doing it.

Its been a learning curve for me because its been a couple years; my last e-cig was a janty dura 510 that i dripped with. Now I have a ego-t with a cartomizer, so to me thats like "party time"! no re-filling carts or dripping. I'm still adjusting to the difference in my device which I think has an impact too.

i definitely got headaches my first few days with my provari, i have found that using an atomizer over a carto tank and dripping is a good way to gauge it, just give your self a few drips, and vape till its out, then move on with your day.

I find this is the biggest advantage of dripping for me. I have been having a problem with the "move on with your day" part. Others drip all the time so they don't take it as a signal, I guess. Whatever works for a person is the best for them, and it's all Good.

Relax, Enjoy!

Everything should be taken in moderation, and that goes for vaping as well.

If someone puts a bowl of M&M's in front of you, sure you could eat the whole thing. But we stop eating after a few because we set limits for ourselves because we know the result if we ate the whole bowl - we get fat :)

Same thing with vaping. Sure we could vape all day non stop. But we do need to breathe oxygen sometimes too! hahahaha.

Just set limits for yourself, use a little willpower, and basic common sense here I say.
