I watch RipTripper rebuild his protank to an 1.6 ohm micro coil and fire it at 16 watts. He also vapes it and says it taste amazing. If I bump my 1.8ohm coil past 8 watts it tastes like Im eating an ashtray. With the 2.2 ohm head there is no way Im going past around 10 watts, and even then its pretty rough. So what am I missing?

Like people have said, with an atty set up with good enough wicking to keep the coil wet, enough coil surface area compered to watts applied and enough air flow, you can vape a lot higher than you would think and not burn your juice. RDAs and RBAs easily go up to 30 watts and more.

Now, not everyone likes the aggressive vape that high powered setups offer. 15 watts is what I consider medium power. I suspect most people would find that having the ability to go that high at will would be a good thing.

However if you are happy at 8 or 9 watts, I say vape on. Why try to fix what's not broken ;)

Well my vape is really cool and I prefer it to be warmer. The 7 watt vape is not at all a good vape imo. It has weird throat hit and I have to really look for the flavor. I got some really good flavors right now and I keep wasting it on these fail protank builds. Better hold off till my chaifun gs gets here, only thing it's from FT so you know how that goes

When I first got my MVP2, I rarely ever went past 9W using using factory built coils (clearomizers, cartomizers) and always wondered why anyone could possibly go up to 20W. Once you start rebuilding, using better wicking methods, materials, and of course coils, you get far better vapor, taste and overall performance that you can sync and keep improving with a stronger flow of power.

Now, 11W with the MVP2 feels like its a bit lacking, not to mention I feel its off compared to the same wattage setting on a DNA20 board I sampled not too long ago.

Basically, I'm going for extra wattage to enhance flavor and thicker vapor I don't have to make any effort to draw on rather than cloud chasing. (not a lung hitter or enjoy pulling a draw like I'm trying to drink a fresh milkshake)

Will I find my satisfying vape with a DNA device? I dunno, sometimes I wonder if this is going to be a never-ending chase of e-juices, builds and power, but one thing I'm really happy about is that I vape far less than I did not too long ago, and not to forget, completely off and done with cigarettes/cigars.

I used to always take an ego/clearo/carto setup for all day, but now, I just enjoy my vaping when I get home.
