So recently I got a Turtleship mod. It's been firing inconsistently. (Sometimes it fires sometimes it doesn't.) After a little research and investigating. I realized the problem is the floating brass pin isn't quiet long enough to give it consistent contact.

So my question is where can one find a pin that small? Would I be able to get one from my local home improvement stores?

Thanks in advance.

If its part of an electrical contact, something gold plated will make a much more consistent contact.

Not much chance finding something made to measure off the shelf, but the electronics industry uses all kinds of gold plated pins and connector parts. A local electronics firm might have a bin of reject pins that you can file down to fit. Obviously filing down removes the gold, so try to get something the right diameter and don't file the end that makes contact.

Some scrapyards have a corner set aside for electrical/electronic gear - look for panels with bundles of wires in plug/sockets.

Thanks for the replies. After a little research and reading. I figured out a fix.

Went down to local home improvement store. Matched up the size of the pin inside the mech with a flat brass screw. A little filing and hack sawing it. I replaced the original tiny pin with the brass screw that's just a smidgen longer then the original. Now it fires like a champ.
