The design of PV's means that it is very difficult for any state to try to control them. At the end of the day, it is virtually impossible to ban or control rechargeable batteries. Or wire. Or wicks. Or even clearos..... which at the end of the day are a container with a coil and a wick. Quite a challenge for any region trying to ban ecigs or vaping.....

This lead me to 2 thoughts. The first is that it would be logical for any state trying to 'control' this area to focus on nicotine containing substances (and by definition, this would include ecigs that come with nicotine pre-loaded) only. Trying to control PV hardware is almost futile, the components are generic items. Taxing ejuice would seem a far more sensible approach to this area. Whilst we cannot say what the long term effects of vaping are, I think the scientific community is unanimous in believing it is less harmful than smoking.

The second thought is that I wondered why the major cigarette companies have not taken control of the ejuice market. In many ways I think this would be a good thing. Large companies would bring consistency and quality to the product. And an increased level of safety too. And of course, if these manufacturers had the major part of the ejuice market, there would be no-one "lobbying" (!!??) governments to ban them.
