Can't really put my finger on it but the OP just rubs me the wrong way.

That's what trolls do.

First he was in another thread where he wanted to put up a vaping website and he was asking here in ECF (the audacity) for moderators for said website...odd,distasteful and just plain wrong.

That's a different member and I don't believe they are the same person (but I could be wrong). You're probably thinking of the Leon guy who says he's going to quit smoking today, everyday, vapes for 2 hours then falls off the bandwagon every time his mother tells him to go buy her cigarettes . Then resets his "vape counter" like as if the vape counter is going to be the instrument that get's him off the cigarettes. I'm beginning to think he is a troll, too, only a different kind which is not so detectable. He's been banned from at least one other forum, by his own admission.

Yep,my bad you are correct,the other website thing was Leon.

Leon guy is actually pretty funny,when i need a chuckle i read his posts.

Nobody can match that troll from down under. He/She/It made it his/her/it's mission in life to promote a Vendor named Alice in Vapeland.
All of the ECF moderators spent their mornings putting out fires this troll started when most of the ECF was asleep.
If I remember correctly, that troll reincarnated himself/herself/itself on the ECF with several new screen names and avatars. @Dusty_D actually was losing patience with him/her/it, fairly remarkable considering how even tempered Dusty was.

OK... wow, read the entire thread (have no idea what the actual topic is...) I've only been on here a couple years (but have been very active) I still feel this is the best vaping forum (and yes, because of filters, rules and mods) I would say "let's get back on topic" but I have no idea what that would be. There may be MANY reasons for the "drop off" including COVID, new regs and PACT and vape shipping BS. Some have just lost interest, some have stockpiled for life (the smart ones that could afford it) and some (like me) don't know what to tell newbies because it's like "too late". I would just like to say (or ask) how is this post helping anyone?

You are absolutely right, nothing lowers cost more effectively and more quickly than the government takeover of a program or provision of a service. And while we are at it, let's discuss efficiency of delivery, the government has an excellent track record for efficiency. There will be minimal or no waste and certainly there will be no corruption.

I think that you missed my point? Sarcasm is difficult to read properly sometimes, because it uses an argument to ridicule an argument, but often does not expound on the subject.

My point wasn't that socialized medicine was good, only the irony of the government's stand, hypothetically, when the costs are in the Federal budget, rather than in a mega-insurance conglomerate's balance sheet somewhere.

In fact, just so you know where I stand, I don't know of any enterprise the US government is good for, other than making money for politicians and breaking stuff, so you'll not see me on the soapbox wanting to move anything from the private to the public sector.

Regardless of the OP,

Well, I can only speak from my experience. I usually stayed in a vendor's forum (Halo). It was quite popular, but slowly, people just stopped posting.
And recently, it's just been so much bad news. Flavor bans, shipping bans, Ignorant lawmakers trying to "save us".
(Ignorant lawmakers, as opposed to the smart ones???)

And maybe it is similar to broadcast tv ratings going down. There is an explosion of other things that eat your leisure time, number 1 being the tracking device, er, I mean iphone.
And netflix and twitter and tictoc and skype and fcebook and hbo and instagram and youtube and snapchat and pinterest and amazon and blogs. And pron.

Back in the day on the old gaming forums when we didn't even have colors we used to type "/sarcasm" when you wanted someone to be sure you were being sarcastic. I still do it, green text I've heard before too though.

I lurk more than I post, but I stop in at least once a day whenever I'm winding down for the night. This has been, and remains, my place to find out the majority of my vaping information. I stumbled upon this forum when I first made the switch many years ago now, and it's been been a constant ever since. From vendor forums, to information on building and reviews of mods, rda and rta's, DIY and juice, as well as the most current Mooch's battery ratings...this place has always been a one stop shop for all my data gathering needs. I love the ECF. It has been a cornerstone in my transition away from cigarettes, and will remain as such until one of us bites the dust.

I have a problem. I tend to say some really stupid stuff that makes people hate me. Then I create a new account, but I say more stupid stuff. So I make a new account. This has been going on for 15 years. So, I'm just going to stick with this account. Because I can't stop myself from saying stupid stuff.
