Where I, the noob, asks questions and you, the pro, answers them. reo style

Alright, so I have been vaping for about a month now on a riva 510. Im really enjoying it and thanks to some of the great people of ecf I have been able to keep from slipping back into my analogs. Now, I think I have decided to purchase a reo here in the very near future, but I have a few questions.

So my situation is, I can get a reo mini or a reo grand for the same price. At first I was set on the mini because at work I dont really have anywhere to store my things except for in my pockets. Prior to ordering I was looking into the batts and realized that currently mini batts 14500s are pretty much not available anywhere, while the grand batts 18650s are.

So if anyone can tell me about the differences between the grand and mini other than just size I would really appreciate it. and speaking of size, how uncomfortable should i expect it to be to carry and grand in my jeans pocket? (Ive carried a pack of cigs in my pocket for years up until recently, anyone have a good size comparison?)

Are there any other batts that will safely work well in in the reos? Or are the aforementioned batts the only ones I should be looking at? Does anyone know where I can go to find any batts cheap and currently in stock?

Seriously TIA guys. You all always come through for me and I do appreciate it.

Personally, the Grand was smaller than I thought it would be, and it only looked "big" when I got my first mini. But I use a Grand literally ALL the time -- from in the house, to driving, to traveling. I have no issues with it's size whatsoever.
Coming from a riva, you may not care to start vaping other voltages right away; however, I prefer 6V, so the Grand is a win in that situation.

You may also want to ask yourself how much battery life are you wanting to get from one charge and how much juice are you vaping in a day. The 18650 will last much longer than the 14500. And the 3ml capacity of the mini may be just right.

Honestly, within days, if not hours, you will probably want to buy another :p So it isn't THAT big of a deal!

I'm a Mini gal, but if you want to walk out the door in the morning and just forget changing anything until you get home in the evening, get the Grand. Here is a good size picture: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...mily-photos-storage-ideas-28.html#post3092464

Don't let battery availability keep you from getting a Mini. AW is shipping AW IMR 14500's from China 8/3. They should be available from all US vendors by 8/8

That size picture did it fr me. I really think it is going to be the grand as long as I can get through to the guy today or tomorrow. Ill be ordering batts as well and maybe some cartos. Ive been smoking lr 2.0s on my riva, should i stick with that or check out 1.5 or dual coils? lemme know.

I need some cheap shops for the batts.... where do I go?

You can look at these AW 14500 750mah 3.7v protected Battery
I personally use AW IMRs though.

Honestly, what works for you works for you. The Grand is my PV of choice (waiting on my Woodvil :p), but the mini is beautiful, small and amazing.

If I wasn't such a TH seeker, I would use a mini. If you're NOT into TH as much as I am, go for the mini hands down

Rob has said Grands will be posted for sale by this coming Wednesday.

You can get 2 or 3 AW IMR 18650's (red wrapper) and a WF 139 or WF 188 charger at RTDvapor.com

If you want to try atomizers with your Grand, RTDvapor.com has a variety of them too.

If you are concerned about putting the Grand in your pocket, you can get a very nice custom holster from Griffin. Here's a post with pictures and a link to his website. He makes them with a belt loop or a clip for your belt/waistband.

Welcome, cameronsandiego! :D

You can use the AW IC 750mah 14500 protected batteries in a Mini REO. :) The AW IMRs are supposed to be available again around the 8th from what I understand.

As for comparison pictures...you mentioned a pack of cigarettes...observe....

wigglr I think if you get a mini and do a side by side comparison of the mini and the grand you will find with fresh batts the mini actually has more TH I suspect because of less electrical resistance between the terminals less resistance thru less aluminum

Thank you guys. I am currently looking at getting some 18650 Batteries on lighthound.com. I did a quick google search and found quite a few cheaper ones, is there anything else i need to check on these batts before ordering or do all 18650s work correctly with the grand?

No not all 18650 work on the grand I did have some don't remember what they were but they were too long for the grand and woodvil.

The recommended are the AW IMR 18650 1600mah. You can use other 18650 batteries, but be aware that non IMR batteries are longer in length due to the Protection Circuit Board on the protected batteries. Do NOT use unprotected Li-Io batteries in any mod. The drawback in the longer batteries is they compress the spring more. If there isn't enough room for the spring to collapse in the case of a short, then it can't drop the battery away from the firing pin, severing the flow of power.

I say that because I go to 6V on my Grand, the 6V for mini is too few mah to be a viable option

I'm also a noob and just got my 1st Reo Grande I really love and although Ive only tried the IKV 1.8's stealths and the 510 xl mega dual coils. The deals rock! I'm talking vapor cannon but I don't recommend the clear 1's they tend to crAck from the heat

Really? I vape my dual coils at 6V. I only use clear ones and they have never cracked. They don't get as hot as the stainless steel ones.
