I smoked cloves because they were the best tasting cigarettes that I could find. However, since there are so many flavors available for vaping, I imagine that I will find flavors that I like a lot better than the clove variants. It would still be nice to find a clove that I like for nostalgia's sake.

But when we ordered from DIY Flavor Shack the first time in a small sample, it seemed good, so we ordered some more. It was a totally different color and taste, and really yucky. lol.I set the screw on top of my dropper bottle that had my djarum black juice on my remote, few hours later it "burned" a nice circle in my remote.(It is the remote for my brand new 42 inch Vizio too. So mad) It will also crack clearos in a couple hours. But I still vape it cuz its sooo good.
I just got my samples of Kretek and Essence Clove, tried them out, and here's my humble opinions:
Let me begin my restating my review of the Dekang BLK DJ Clove
Black DJ Clove 24mg from Valley Vapor
It's more like a Djarum Light or Special, but I dig that as it's not harsh at all. It does have a clove flavor and odor, I'm not disappointed.
Kretek Clove PG 36mg (sweetened) from Tasty Vapor
I wish i could have seen the look on my face when I took my first puff. It's incredibly strong, spicy, and definitely does not remind me of cloves. Instead I get this image of myself biting off a chuck of a cinnamon stick and just chewing away at it, chewing away. Had this been labeled "Overwhelming Cinnamon Enima" this would have been spot on. Now I have to clean out my brand new cart... I'm soo good at that...
Eliquid Planet Essence Clove 16mg (??PG/VG)
This one must have also been humorous to watch me try it. I felt like I was huffing the fumes off the biggest, fattest, most pungent incense stick you can buy. Which sure, as a kid that's the bees knees. Anyway more specifically it's similar enough to a clove to warrant further testing, although it's more like burning flower petals than clove so far.
Verdict: the Dekang is far more like a Djarum than these two. Maybe I can mix something else into these to make them more palatable (especially the Kretek).
Bonus: Geoff's Blend 24mg (80%PG) from Tasty Vapor
This is the third sample I got today, so I thought I'd toss in my 2 cents while I'm at it. I'm not sure what it tastes like. All I know is that it's too much... something. Although I can't say I dislike it straight out, I wouldn't vape this had I a choice.

Try Welcome get the djarum black clove premix or if you diy you can get the concentrated. Its really good. I know what you mean bout the kretek being too much of something. Don't vape that kretek juice dry, it made me gag for a while.
Ya I have some of this. It's definitely representative of what I remember of clove cigarettes.

Hahaha! Yep, I always describe it, and a few others, as what licking a potpourri bowl would be like. Not so yummy.
I've actually found something that is a decent replacement for my Djarum Blacks *finally* And it's a frankenjuice.
I mix Tasty Vapor's Kretek, some unflavored VG (because Kretek is killer strong), some Boba's Bounty, but other mild, boutique tobacco flavors like a good one from Want2Vape for example would work IMO- it just needs more tobacco. And then a couple drops of an anise flavored liquid. My ratios if I remember off the top of my head are: 2 parts Kretek, 2 parts VG, 1 part Boba's, & maybe 1/4 part anise- but add it slowly and check because you don't want too much. It's pretty good; best by far I've managed to get my hands on.
Well although mixing several juices and DIYing is something I've done, I'm more of a 'get it an forget' it enthusiast. Yes the Clever Clove is a 'light' or 'special' Djarum mostly, if you're wanting more powerful stuff I'd suggest getting Clever Clove and using it as a baseline, simply adding 1:5 or so Essence Clove from Eliquidplanet to give it more of a Black kick. Or perhaps 1:10 Kretek if that's more your flavor style. This I would experiment with myself were it not for the fact I do not like the clove dropkick-to-the-face that real Blacks can give. Plus such a strong juice does not an all day vape make for me. As is, the Clever Clove is an all day vape, not becoming overwhelming over time. Just a strong recommendation.. try it!
on another note I ordered more DK BLK today and will be comparing it critically to Clever Clove, see if side by side there's any noticeable flavor preferences / differences and if so maybe doing a 50/50 mix of that. Either way this stuff is WINNING
