"Prohibition on imitation tobacco products

In Singapore, electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) are currently prohibited under Secion 16 (1) of the Tobacco (Control of Advertisements and Sale) Act, which is enforced by the Health Sciences Authority (HSA). This legislation prohibits the importation, distribution, sale or offer for sale of any confectionery or other food product or any toy or other article that is designed to resemble a tobacco product or the packaging of which is designed to resemble the packaging commonly associated with tobacco products. HSA takes a serious view on any person who contravenes the law. Those guilty of the offence are liable to a fine of up to $5, 000 upon conviction.

One more thing, your PV would be confiscated... "

I have seen other forums deleting any posts about e-cigs in singapore also. This is mainly because they do not want to even be seen "supporting" e-cigs. It is sad when e-cigs give a healthier alternative to smoking and also do assist many people in quitting smoking. I do wish Singapore and other countries starting to enforce any regulations against e-cigs would look into the ignorance and problems with doing so. I do believe in some regulations, mainly to know what is in the product. I have had too many e-juice bottles barely labeled and no child proof caps. Thankfully, this was not a major issue with me due to I do not have children and have always kept my e-juice and e-cig supplies away from the kitchen, food products, and out of reach of children when my children come over to visit.

I do not agree with regulations to restrict or bann the e-cigs from the market is a good thing though. The only time I would agree to seeing the e-cigs being banned is when I also see the patch, gum, and other nicotine containing products besides all tobacco being banned also. We all know this will not happen though; with the taxes and such coming in to support the government and other wealthy groups including the big tobacco companies getting involved. Another thing with any type of prohibition like this, based on history in almost every country, is organized crime and also the black market - which is never a good thing.

I hope you are able to find something that you can use to get off of smoking.

remind me to think of Singapore, the next time i complain about living here. cannot imagine the utter hypocrisy you people have to live under. unless Americans are careful, the same could happen here. can't imagine how it would work, but an underground black market for e-juice, or the underground railroad for PG. sounds ludicrous, but that may be your only option. my heart goes out to our smoking brothers and sisters over there.

thanks...
Over here... you can drink and get drunk in the public..... but you absolutely cant vape. its a big taboo.you just cant vape in public, find any vape shops or juice shop. I always envy when i visit those sites in US and see the pictures of the places selling PV, MODs, RBA and Eliq openly. I wish I can just have the same in this small little island.

I used to vape openly when i started. But due to those detectors lying around all over the island, I have to resort to vape in toilets, or simply home. Sometimes i cant help but to think vaping in this place is as bad as taking drugs.....

If you'd read the DUNE novels by Frank Herbert....

That place reminds me of Rakis, under the reign of Leto(III)....
