I don't mean to sound selfish or anything but if we starting sending out our snus to people then eventually we would have to reorder and absorb the shipping costs and taxes. If I was going to do something like that then it would have to be at current replacement cost unless it was for a friend.

I totally didn't mean I would want someone sending me out free snus. It would be nice however to be able to pay someone something reasonable for a can or two of something interesting. For me to buy my current cart at Northerner I'd spend $20 for 5 cans and then $18 for shipping, from PA to VA, which is ....ing nuts. If I felt confident enough to make an order for rolls, it wouldn't be an issue but since all I know is General and I can get it locally, ordering the unknown for that much seems kind of crazy. If that makes any sense.

tattooed said it well. :)

This may already exist, and I simply don't know about it, but I am surprised that I haven't seen anything where snus vets are breaking rolls into singles and sending them to noobs so they can experience the difference, find a type of Swedish snus that they like, and then have a personal favorite they can use to start placing bulk orders. This sort of thing is already being done to relay PVs and eLiquid to people in places around the world that have erected barriers. Why wouldn't snusers be doing the same?

I am sorry if I came across as an axxhole but what I read was "sending them to noobs". I assumed that this meant at no charge. I apologize for that. You know what they say about assumiing something.

Perhaps you could do a co-op with someone to split the shipping. I have done that before on snus and snuff. Maybe make a thread to see if anyone shows an interest. What ones are you looking to try? I might consider selling a few.

Thats what I was thinking, a co-op might be a good idea, or maybe when the next time someone places a large order they'd be willing to let me toss on a few cans. Don't a lot of these places have point systems, maybe that would be a decent enough motivator.

I'm wanting to try Ettan, General Onyx, GrovSnus, Tre Ankare, and any of strong portion stuff. I guess you could say, I'm interested in trying anything tobacco flavored and rated well that isn't General White portion or Original Portion.

Has an individual mailing cans of snus been criminalized courtesy of PACT?

I've been trading beer for about 6 years now and that entire time its been "illegal" to do so. Been caught god knows how many times because of a broken bottle or seal on the package, UPS just repacks it and sends it on. They do not care. Worst situation, they sent it back to me and I had to resend it. I imagine it will be just as easy to ship snus.

tattoed, yes northerner and getsnus do have point systems where you can earn free rolls. Had you inquired a couple weeks ago, I could have included your cans with the order that Jojo and I did to take advantage of the free shipping they were offering on orders over 30 cans. Out of the ones you listed, the only one I have is grovsnus black. I do have thunder berry which is an extra strong portion at 16mg.

Well before pact I would order any where from five cans to twenty five cans. This last order I think I bought thirty and got two free on a promotion they were running. Also jojo got some snus and snuff but I don't remember how many. The tax on a $160 order was only around $8-9 for my state.

Lil' Brown Smoke Shop carries a limited selection of snus, as in General and Camel.... but also stonewall dissolvables. Good shipping rates and no taxes as of yet

I have yet to try Stonewalls so may give them a try in the future along with a few general Wintergreen as I'm low on those.

I didn't know that lilbrown was still selling stonewalls. I thought no one could post pact but you are right stubby. They still show them for sale. I have tried the stonewall java. The flavor isn't bad but I found that I like snus better. They are easy to carry in the foil pack. They look like a cold medicine or something. I bought a five pack right before pact to try and think I have only used part of one pack so far.

Wow, nice link. $8 shipping on a roll brought the total to under $40. Thats a good deal, I'd say. I just wish these smaller shops could carry more than just these particular General brands.

Anyone know why this is all local shops have? Is this just the beginning push for American acceptance and then we'll be buying whatever or is this what we'll just have for the foreseeable future?

The local shop near me that was listed as a general distributor didn't stock any but said they would check. I asked three or four times and they never did. I just stopped going there. They also gave me the run around on getting some stonewalls which they supposedly ordered for me but after a few weeks of asking I found out that they couldn't even get them.

I stopped by more most local shop and told them they lost me as a customer since I quit smoking but if they got off their asses and got some real snus in, I'd come right back. Owner seemed intrigued and I gave him the SM contact info. Hopefully something will come of it.

This weekend I'm heading down to Radford to see my sister at school, so I'm going to stop by the shop on General's site listed as carrying the product, we'll see what happens.

That's awesome that you found some local retailers man.Even if you don't dig the general stuff all that much it would be awesome to run down to the local shop and pick some up while waiting for an order or whatnot.
I've been talking to my local guys about it as well and they seem really open to it but they seem to be having trouble finding out how to get it.I'll take your lead and drop off general's contact info for them - thanks for the idear :)

Thank you for this link! Hubby was using General Wintergreen he ordered (I think from GetSnus) but the price basically doubled after PACT. This seems more affordable. Stubby, being a fellow Wisconsinite, how do they not charge tax? Is this a case where we are supposed to report the purchase on our income taxes?

Glad I found this thread - I promised my husband I'd try to find a good snus source and I knew I could count on you guys!

I just received an order from them last week, some General Wintergreen and Stonewall java. UPS does require a signature by an adult but other then that no problems. I just blinded the UPS man with my shiny doom (bald head) grabbed the package and ran. They never knew what hit em.

Seriously though..... I donno. It could be that they are simply flying under the radar for the moment. In case you may be wondering you are legally required to pay the taxes on any purchases come tax time. I sure all the good upright citizens here are doing just that.

Ahhhh....... moving right along..... there is one other place you can order where taxes are not collected at point of sale and that is buysnus/snuscentral.

Buy Snus, Order Swedish snus online world wide - BuySnus.com
Buy Snus at SnusCentral.com. It's the Best Place to Get Snus !

In the above case they do not have a US warehouse and ship directly from Sweden. Shipping is high but of course selection is good. Makes sense to use them if you're making large orders, as in 4 or 5 rolls in my case, to lesson the bite of high international UPS shipping.

WI taxes on smokeless are 100% of wholesale which is in the realm of insanity. That may be the highest in the country. We really do need to educate the people of WI on this and perhaps we can force the politicos to show some sanity.... but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Oh..... and tell your hubby to get his backside down here on the dark side and show his face.
