As I was researching APVs, their features, what batteries are best to use in them and so forth, I saw some very intresting threads about batterie types and the best sites to order them from.
At the time I was thinking I was just going to go with some descent IMRs from fasttech. So I didn't bookmark the sites I saw. But seeing as I've been hearing that batteries comming out of china are being held up. Added to the fact that you might not get exactly what you paid for from fasttech, and I really don't want to burn my face off. I'd like to get some from a good supplier.
There were a few that I really liked but for the life of me I can't remember them. It's one of those "I'll know it when I see it" deals.

So can anyone point me in the right direction? Please?

Thanks!

I buy batteries from three places.

MyVaporStore- Only for my regulated VV/VW mods, they sell the purple samsung ICR 18650, its 2600mah, and from my research has a 5amp MCD. Its not AW or IMR, and its amp limit isnt good for high watts/low ohms, but on a Vamo or a SiD, its a battery which lasts a HELL of a long time. Its also not taller than the usual 18650 from AW, so it should always fit. Its very popular with the JoyE Evic so its not a crap.... battery, just not what you want for SLR vaping.

For Mechs and Hybrids, for me, there is only two batteries I will deal with. AW IMR or MNKE. the 18650s have real high amp limits so you can push low ohm coils no problem, and they are top quality batteries. Ive got AWs from ElectronicStix because I bought a bunch of mods from them, so I get batteries at the same time, AND because they have the AW IMR 18650 1600mah, which is the better 18650. A lot of places only have the 2000mah. I also go to Avidvapor, they have AW IMR and MNKE.

I spent a lot of time researching batteries before I got into mechs/hybrids/sub ohm vaping.. before I made any purchases at all. And it can hard to sort through all the threads and charts and graphs and chit chat to find what you need to know. you should do your own research, but if you want a quick and dirty piece of information that will help you out..
-If you plan to use a mechanical or hybrid device and go below the 1.5ohm resistance level, then use only an AW IMR 18650 1600, or MNKE 18650 1500mah. You can run down to about .2ohms before you begin to breach the rated amp draw of those batteries.-
I DO NOT ENDORSE, SUGGEST OR PROMOTE VAPING BELOW 1.5OHMS. DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK. KNOW YOUR BATTERIES, KNOW YOUR COILS. DO NOT RISK BLOWING UP YOUR FACE BECAUSE YOU WANT TO EXHALE A LARGER CLOUD OF WATER VAPOR THAN THE OTHER GUY

orbronics is a good vendor as well as super t

the fasttech batteries are real but with the mail situation i wouldnt go there either.

I tryed to do a search on that one. Didn't quite come up with a site that sold IMR batteries.

Haven't bought any from that specific vendor, but I always see rtdvapor mentioned for AW batteries. Might be it.

THAT'S one of the sites I was looking for. Bookmarked!!!
    Thanks.

I'm planing on getting either a Vamo V3 or a TECS MSK-2000. I do not intend on going sub ohm and would like to stay in the 1.8 - 2.2 range. But I do want a good, safe battery. And if putting IMRs in those are a little overkill on safty then that is just what I want.
Oh, and if I wanted to blow out clowds of vapor, I would put my juice in a fog mechine. Let the other guy beat THAT!...LOL.
    Thanks for the knowledge.

RTD Vapor is probably the go-to site for mod batteries and chargers. You can rest assured anything they sell is for the ecig market, unlike FastTech, EBay, or Amazon who also sell un-protected Li Ion batteries NOT SAFE for mods.

Battery Basics for Mods: IMR or Protected?

The following batteries are the highest-rated name-brand recommended batteries for mods. These are IMRs and Hybrids.

    AW IMR
    18650 2000mah 10Amp (continuous discharge rate)
    18650 1600mah 24A

    Panasonic or Orbtronic hybrid
    CGR18650CH (IMR/Li Ion hybrid) 2250mAh 10A
    NCR18650PD (high drain-high capacity) 2900mAh 10A

    Samsung hybrid (LiNiCoMnP)
    INR18650-20R 2000mah 20A

    MNKE IMR
    IMR18650 1500mah 20A

    Sony IMR
    us18650v3 IMR 2250mAh 10A

    EFEST IMR
    18650 2000mah 10A

    * AW IMR 19490 (1100mah) 9A

Hi Baditude, and thanks for chiming in.
Your artical was one of the referances I read while doing my research. Thanks for putting it out there. It, and a few others, are what have me convinced to get the AW IMRs. It seems that I can safely use them for just about anything on the market, and anything I can come up with as well (within reason). Now I just need to get everything together.
