The HighPing mod is unbeatable with PG viscosity liquids. VG doesn't wick all that well with it. The BFM dart on the other hand is well suited for VG liquids, but not so much with PG liquids. It is all about viscosity.
lelly, I had that problem with regular carts since day 1. I had no materials for any mods so I tried the poly plug, it's much better already. Personally I want to try the blue foam dart, since you can fill with juice bottle and reuse the dart.
Poly plug? HighPing Mod? great...looks like I have more reading to do!
I have been reading about the blue foam dart mod too, seems to be a favorite and I will definately be picking up some of that foam next time I am in the city. Since I have gotten these cartos they have been all that I have used, even when I am sitting at home all day. For some reason when I tried to go back to dripping, I just couldn't get it right, kept either flooding or getting a burnt taste after 2 puffs I need to find a way to get all my carts back into the rotation and save my cartos for work/driving.
Poly plug is the highping mod. You just pull out the poly filler, cut it in half and roll 1 part into a ball. Drop 10-12 drops into your empty cart and pop the plug in.
Easy and wicks great, and funny Switched should mention PG vs VG, I think my juice is mostly PG, which might be why this works great for me. My juice came from ePuff.ca, they list the ingredients but not the %. It says PG, glycerin (VG?), flavor, nic.
the only time i've had leaking problems have been when i've over filled the carts on both the reg and xl or if i've used a really runny liquid which i try to stay away from. If your having a lot of leaking problems maybe try adding some plain vg to them but you gotta remember it will decrease the flavour so its best to try with a small amount of your liquid so you don't ruin it. You can get it in baking section at michael's in baking section the brand i use is wilton's and labeled glycerine and on bottom says to restore consistency to icing colors.I have never bothered to mod any carts just used them with what they've came with. As far the wicking and burnt taste i've only experienced that when my xl & reg carts when they run out of liquid which at least with the xl carts is not near as frequent as the reg sized carts. Now with all that being said the past few weeks i've started trying out different cartomizers to get away from having to carry liquid and a spare atty in case it kicks the bucket and i'm really liking the ego xl cartomizers cause i spend 10-15 mins fill up 3 of them put them in an old perscription bottle in case my 1 1/2 year old somehow gets to them and i am great for the day and haven't gone past using the second one yet and haven't had any leaking problems with them at all. i've lately just been using the low res xl attys to drip when at home since they are real juice pigs and very satisfying with just 3-4 draws here and there.
eGO cartomizer - empty is this the xl carto you are talking about? At $5 a piece, how much life do you get out of it?
I read the highping mod and I will definately try it, that is if I didn't throw away all of my filler! I make my juice 70/30 so I think I will be good? Thanks for the great info guys.
Edit: Tried it, 3 good puffs (probably from the one drop I put on the atty), then a burnt taste, gonna trim away a bit of poly and try again.
That is the ones i'm talking about but i have a friend that gets them for me in the states. I don't buy much in canada anymore due the price differences.I have about 10 different xl carts in use for different flavors and a few of them i've used 5 or more times with no problems yet.
Sadly the situation for high quality LR atty's is rather bleak in Canada right now. Cisco seems to be selling his branded atty's exclusively through his own site Avid Vaper : Electronic Cigarettes, E-Liquid and Accessories and the only other highly rated producer Welcome to IkenVape is also US based and mostly sold out at the moment. On the upside I had my order from AvidVaper shipped by EMS and had it within a week so it may be worth it for bigger orders anyway. I can live with putting in an order every few months.
If you want the ultimate upgrade, you should try to snatch a REO Grand or Mini. No more dripping and it should last you a long time.
Luckily they even ship to Canada, some vendors don't. I ordered 1 cisco LR 306 from HV to try out, if I like them I may order in bulk from Avid along with some LR510. Unfortunately HV only has the 1 type or I'd get them there.
@ lelly: RE highping mod, try not to roll that plug too tightly, if you compress the poly too much and too dense it won't wick well.
As for the Reo, I have a Grand on its way to me right now! If that doesn't deserve some dancing bananas..
