I am dripping now with the atty and it is a good flavor but I have to keep refilling constantly and it gets aggravating to do so.......

Cartos are problematic for me because I like to take three or four fast vapes in a row and wicking becomes a problem. Because of that, I tend to stick to top coils and turn them upside down and back up between each vape. I'm happy with them except for some of my juices that need a little more umph that a 2.5 ohm coil on my ego or e-power can provide. For those I like dripping on a 2.0 or 2.2 ohm atty.

I'm low on attys so I haven't been dripping much lately, but next month I plan on ordering some attys and trying this mod.

It seems the carto would be less hassle?

Yes, less hassle. Fill, use, top off, use, top off...keep repeating until it dies or you want to clean it...your choice and they are cheaper than attys.

Also, can I use a drip tip with a 510?

You can use a drip tip on anything that is 510 or 901 threaded including cartomizers...feels better on the lips.

If I get the USB pass through can I vape while its charging on the computer?

Depends...if it has an inline battery, yes you can safely use it connected to your computer. If no inline battery is present, DO NOT use on your computer. You run the risk of damaging your computer. Non-inline battery PT's are 5V and should only be used with a wall connector. I purchased an extension for mine off eBay so that I have at least 6ft of cord...I hate staying hunched over.

You only use a drip tip on an atomizer with sealed manual batteries. Drip tips are not recommended for auto batteries or any battery with an open hole in the middle of the threaded end.

The other way to use a drip tip is just as a mouthpiece on a stuffing-type carto instead of the endcap. Cool mouthpiece, wider stream of vapor, easy to pull off to check stuffing ot add juice.

I started with carts and didn't really like them. Tried dripping and loved it (for close to a year). Tried some 1.7 cartos from CCV and totally forgot about dripping.

Dripping is a hassle and I'd rather just use cartos all the time (and dripping while driving...). I like that I don't have to mess around with cleaning them since they're cheap and they last long enough between top offs (I can go about 1 hour while driving). I also haven't gotten any juice in my mouth since I started using the cartos.

I also run drip tips on all my cartos since I think they feel better.

I am considering ordering a Riva 510 soon but unsure of what too get carto or cart. It seems the carto would be less hassle?

So many e-cigs, so very confusing, makes me feel kind of dumb. Geeezzzzzz......

Thanks

Oh yeah and I agree with you....it is CONFUSING!!!!!....so many options:facepalm:

I actually prefer tanks... Prior to getting my tank, I preferred carts over cartos.
I didn't like the cartos because I don't like the hit on them, I prefer a little more air with my hits, and it seems like there isn't as much air that comes through on a carto. I also don't like the LR ones, I prefer a cooler vape, and LR makes the vape a bit hotter.
I liked atty's because they hit better, and I like being able to just switch out a cart without needing to switch the atty (As long as the new flavor is compatible). The downside to carts that drove me nuts though was the small capacity and burning taste if it got low... I spent a lot of time trying to find the perfect mod/filler for carts.
Then I got the Mega Type B tank + atty for my eGo and I LOVE it. Large capacity, no burnt taste, no messing around with dripping or topping off, good hit, and real easy to use.

Definitely anything but cartridges. I don't think anyone sticks with cartridges long just because they really don't work well. I did okay for a while with the original eGo Mega cartridges a year ago just because they held more juice which meant less topping off, but even those didn't use half the juice in the cart before they needed topping off.

These days I use clearomizers (Fluxomizer Deluxe) modded for performance, and am currently trying out the Kranger horizontal bottom coil cartos just to see what they're like. So far though nothing has been able to beat a modded clearomizer for sheer flavour, vapor production and throat hit.

I went down the cart path too. I was sick of refilling them every 30 mins or so and they stopped wicking pretty quickly. I tried a few mods with blue foam and poly filling. They worked ok, but now i'm in vape heaven with the 510 carts. just keep a few filled and you are good for the day. I use 3-5 a day. I usually fill all 15 I have and go about 3 days with that..

I usually prefer carto's for all day vaping , but still use atty's for dripping and trying new juices . Lately , I have been taking carto's with the bottom coil , that get sort of plugged up , remove the wicking material , and turn them into a dripping atty . After the carto stuffing is removed , I add a few strands of wick (from my re-buidlable atty's) about an inch long , and stuff it down , in and around the coil . It holds a lot more juice than a regular atty , and works very well . And best of all , I save some money , not buying atty's all the time .

I love the TH and flavor from dripping. When I started I too thought that dripping was a pain but after trying atty/carts and a variety of cartomizers I know that dripping is my favorite. I do use cartomizers when driving so that I don't have to drip n drive.

I recommend every person try each type (dripping, carts & cartomizer) and decide which you prefer. I definitely have preferences on the cartomizers also. The Ce2s are good and we really like them.

Same experience here except I use a drip tip on the atty rather than a cart. I inhaled melting plastic (or the fumes from it) using a cart with my first ecig and never used another cartridge. Like Kaylee I use cartomizers when I'm driving. Dripping directly onto an atomizer gives me a pure, clean, tru-flavor vape.

Ok I checked out the Ce2 and it sure looks interesting. I see it also has an adapter to fit the 510, which is good. From what I can tell in the picture it looks like a drip trip attached to a large container ( wrong word ). I'll have to gather some more info on this but it just may solve my problem. Thanks for the tip.....

CE2's do come threaded for 510 batteries. I recommend you get the ones from GotVapes (Fluxomizer DeLuxe). The tubes won't crack or leak.

I like and dislike cartomizers, cartridge/atty and tanks. LOL

Cartomizers I like because I can get them color coordinated with my batteries (I know it sounds a bit superficial but hey, that's just the way it is!) and because they just plain do not leak (at least most don't). They can be the most convenient option. It's pretty easy to throw a couple of charged XL batteries and a 5-pack of cartos in my purse.

I dislike them because unless I spend a lot of money on some of the aftermarket ones, they do not give adequate visible vapor production and I end up burning a hole through the wick within a day due to my specific method of usage. When I burn a hole through the wick, I end up getting juice in my mouth. Also, many of the aftermarket ones (those with the best performance) require specialized methods of filling (weird ends on your syringe, dismantling piece by piece with a bent paperclip, etc.). They are just plain a pain. Many of the more advanced ones requiring the special filling also seem to LEAK which I dislike.

I don't mind the expense TOO much, but for daily use given my vaping technique they don't work for me. They are convenient but I seem to be forced to choose between short life and suboptimal performance or longer life and better performance but difficult and leaky. I also prefer higher VG in my juice and that doesn't wick well in most cartos.

I like cartridges/attys because attys seem to last me nearly forever. (That is, the 510 and 901 atties last me forever. The BE112/RN4072 atties don't last long before acquiring a burnt taste.) The cartridges last forever too and can be refilled in a jiffy with some polyfill, scissors and tweezers. I have literally never had to replace a 510 atty or a 901 atty (used with kr808d-1 battery). I do have to clean them occasionally. As long as you keep the cartridges topped up and not over-filled, they have good flavor &c.

I dislike cartridges/attys because you have to keep a dropper bottle handy constantly. Maybe not constantly, but after the equivalent of 4-6 cigarettes you have to top it up to keep from burning the polyfill. When switching flavors you have an unpleasant period of betwixt and between. If you overfill them on an auto system, you can ruin your battery. Also, if you don't keep it at just the right level of dampness, it will leak. Agh!

I like my tank systems (510-T and BE112T) because they give truly excellent flavor and great vapor production. Both work way better than I ever expected with auto batteries because I use manuals in other cases. Cartridges can be re-used many times so they are cost effective and again ... the flavor is really excellent.

I dislike my tank systems because I do not like having to use a syringe (510-T) to refill. There is just no way to use a syringe outside of your own home where it won't attract unwanted notice and require explanation. I have since found replacement tops for the 510-T, but until I found those they leaked for any subsequent uses after the first. The BE-112Tdoesn't require a syringe to fill, thank goodness, but after one use you need to replace the rubber cap on the cartridge to prevent unwanted leaks. I also don't like that the tank style atties are more prone to acquire burnt flavor thereby requiring replacement.

So in other words, I have no opinion. LOL
