I currently have a Kangertech KBox Mini with a Kanger Subtank Mini, I want to upgrade to a higher wattage, I used to be a heavy dipper & snuser, and I've been vaping for 3 months now

I'm thinking a Kangertech 120watt, ipv D2, or ipv D3, pros and cons of each? I'll be using a Kanger Subtank Mini with a 0.5 coil

Can you guys give me pros and cons to each and tell me what you think is best
Thanks!

Personally Jon I am moving to dual 18650 devices to get the longer battery life, the higher ohms are just an added bonus. The Sigelei 100W + has served me well and I just picked up the Fuchai 200W which has TL.

The Eleaf 100W doesn't have TL but they have been solid. Varitube has the Renegade X which is a real nice and has the SXSX350J chip.

Single battery, I have two of the IPV D2's and like them both, the IPV D3 should be a little better. The SX Mini is a quality device and if you pick up the ML series you can find a good deal.

Every mod has it's good and bad you just need to let folks know a little more what functions your looking for and you definitely get more feedback ;)

Thanks that does help, I'm looking for more power, larger clouds are mostly why I want to get the higher wattages, I also want to be able to add a dripper on occasion.

My buddy has a Sigellei, but having to take out the batteries to charge would be a hassle on the go, so that's why I'm avoiding it.

I'm use to Kangertech & iLeaf and liked them both, so I'm still looking at the IPVs cause I haven't ever seen them in action:pop:

The thing with revomable batteries it to have two sets and keep one set fully charged. Btw I wouldn't recommend a Reuleaux rx200 unless dropping it from 15 inches isn't something that's going to happen.

Hi and welcome. I don't know anything about the mods you're looking at, but I will offer the thought your subtank with .5 ohm coils is about maxed out on the Kbox. If you want more cloud, you're going to need more tank and lower coils. Unfortunately, I don't know much about factory coil tanks either, I rebuild. If you want to think about building-- you can buy premade coil wires, if you like, and just install and wick them-- I can heartily recommend the Indulgence MT. That thing is a beast coiled down around .3ish and upwards if 50 watts. They make a companion, the Mutank, which has the option of build or factory coils, but the folks in another thread don't like the factory coils much.

Regarding the mods, I am unreasonably prejudiced against P4U equipment. I recall a time they had some QC problems on certain models and I have never gotten over it. There are a bunch of people around who like the gear though, and they are attractively priced. Those guys will know more than I about them. I can recommend the Sigeleis as a good brand name. The 100 or 150 watt models, with or without TC, would work for what you want. In another thread, there tons of folks who love the Wismec Reuleaux RX200, if you don't mind a 3 battery mod. One caveat on it: our friend @coilburner dropped his and it broke. Finally, more expensive, but I have a 200 watt Snow Wolf and I love it.

This.

Buying a higher wattage mod isn't going to do any difference on the Subtank, because once you get beyond a certain wattage (I find it to be about 35) on the .5 ohm pre-built heads, they simply burn. People have the conception that watts and cloud production go hand-in-hand, but that's not necessarily true.

As @suprtrkr eluded to, if you really want more clouds, and if you want to be able to actually use the higher wattages, you're going to need an atomizer that can handle more power. In particular, an RDA is probably the way to go.

A lot of people love drippers. I love my RTAs. The flavor of drippers with the convenience of a tank

You should rebuild the RBA that came with the Subtank mini. There you can build in different resistances for your sweet spot. And get experience wicking coils. I think you will be surprised at how much better the vapor will taste.

Long time ago I used the Subtank Nano and went to drippers for better flavor. I used the Veritas, Magma, Freakshow Mini, Rogue and others. I got a Goblin Mini because the reviewers were raving about it.

I took a toot and was blown away. A tank with flavor better than most of the drippers I tried, and just as good as my Freakshow Mini and Rogue.

I sold all of my drippers but 1 and use RTAs exclusively I use the GMini and the Silverplay Nano. The only time my Rogue is ever used is when I need to taste a new juice.

I was wondering if @coilburner dropped his due to recent posts. I personally love my RX200 but don't expect it would do well in a fall of a few feet. Not my candidate for the most tank-like mod out there to say the least.

I also have a Snow Wolf and I wouldn't want to see what happens if I dropped that either. :w00t:

In any case, to answer the OP's question.... I would still go RX200 based on price and features. It is a great mod at a great price. I am using mine a lot along with my Kanger Kbox/Subtank Mini setup.

You're absolutely correct. In everything.

The horizontal coils will burn at 35-40 watts.

The vertical coils can stand about 50-55 watts.

The biggest factor in cloud production is the build and a high VG ratio in the juice

I almost never vape above 12.5 watts. Sometimes down as low as 10. My clouds puts many vapers under the table. Mike was vaping on an Aspire Triton with Coolfire4 mod pegged at 40 watts.

I was vaping on a single .8 ohm coil on my Silverplay Nano and I was producing much larger clouds and Mike was stunned when he saw I was using 1/3 the power he was. The difference was the build, and I was vaping 70%VG.30%PG. He was vaping 50/50 juice.

Also true. I haven't dropped my SW either, but it won't be pretty if I do. I would expect it to still work-- built like an exterior sanitary facility of masonry construction-- but the panels would be all broken.

I do intend to get a Reuleaux RX200 myself too as I've heard a lot of good reviews about it. I'd much prefer to invest in a good mod that doesn't burn in a hole in my pocket as I think it'd serve me better in the long run as opposed to getting a starter kit. But that's just me, I guess? Atomiser wise, I know I ain't gonna do any rebuilding stuff so soon (not my cup of tea at the moment but never say never, right?) so I'm just gonna start off with a tank for my mod. Kinda deciding between the Uwell and Aspire Trition V2 but leaning more towards the latter. Hoping to get a good price for them locally *keeping fingers crossed*

I went RTAs, DIY juicd, and wrapping coils and wicking so I can make the Bureaucrats irrelevant.

Unless you buy the Clapton coils for the subtank, in which case I found 4watts to be ideal.

The reuleaux isnt really a durable device. Some people have managed to drop it once and it no longer worked. Out of all the devices I have the Ipv3 Li is probably the most durable Regulated device. I have dropped it numerous times and it still works like new. It can go up to 200 watts but can only reach 7.5 volts so your most likely never going to be able to hit that 200 watts unless your building really low ohm coils. It is kindof a big mod but it feels very solid. The touch sensor can be turned off so you wont have to worry about it firing randomly in your pocket. It also does temperature controll with nickel and titanium.

I like the Reuleaux RX200, but I seems like wayyy to much power, almost a waste, but it seems to be priced lower than other mods lower in watts, what tank would be good for it? I'm not a fan of RTAs and I like to vape and drive so it isn't for me just yet
if vaping while driving is your thing, you might look at a squonk mod. They're pricy, though. But safe and easy to use one handed.
