Hi , I'm new to this whole vaping thing , but really enjoying Not smoking cigs ! 1 month now and no cigs after 20 years ! I started out using Blue e cigs and quickly went to V2 , and now ego one . The Ego one is OK , but I still find my self wanting more . More taste (don't really see any difference between juices yet) and more smoke. Which has lead me here . So I'm considering the ProVari . A fair amount of money , but I'm thinking if it does the job I'll stop hunting for the next best vaping tool ! My question is are there any big differences from the 2015 ProVari classic and the P3 . $50 dollar difference on the starter kit between the two .

Thanks
Harvey

Harvey, it really all depends on what kind of vaper you are, and what power levels you're comfortable with. The 2.5 is limited to about 15 watts, and the P3 to 20 watts. The 2.5 won't do sub-ohm, and the 3 will "only" go down to .5 ohms.

What they will both give you is consistency, accuracy, and reliability. If you can afford one, and you believe it will fit your vaping style, I'd recommend one.

A Provari won't necessarily give you more flavor or vapor.
Agreed. I own two (and I like them very much) but 14 watts on a regulated mod is 14 watts. Aside from power, flavor comes from atomizer design, coil configuration, and air flow.

Hi Harvey ... wow, you joined ECF over 6 years ago, cheers.

I only use Provaris ... it is my perfect vape topped with a Kayfun Lite v2+

great flavour and plenty of vapour ... if I was going to buy a Provari, I would get this one along with a couple of batteries.

ProVari 2.5 Mini - Gun Metal ZenKote™ - Special Of The Week

I would order a charger from Amazon or somewhere like that.

lets see
2.5 VV only 2.9 v to 6v fires 1.2 ohm (some a little lower) Max 15 watts, 3.5Amp max
P3 VV/VW 2.9v to 6v will go down to .5 ohm max 20 watts, 6.5 Amp.
With the P3 you could play <1 ohm, more versatile, Higher watts. one mod can use 18650, 18400, 18350 batterys.
For my money the P3 wins hands down.
This is my :2c: worth.

yeah.. i dont understand the draw to provari anymore - I like the made in the US part... but they have really fallen far behind -- only recently got wattage and its super underpowered and lacking the new features (temp control) that are popping up just about everywhere else already and they are still using the same formfactor from years ago when I picked up a vamo... Even the vamo knock offs do 50 Watts these days... and one button interfaces are brutal man... just a terrible design imo...

Thanks to all for the replies, I guess being new to all this I'm trying to figure out what it is I'm after. For me mainly I would like to get this flavor from the juice everyone talks about and decent consistent hits.
I gave up on Blue e cigs quickly because I grew out of them . V2 has smooth hits but I miss the throat hit . The Ego one can give a throat hit , but I don't get the flavor . What part of the puzzle am i missing. I leaned toward the Provari in a effort to get it right and stop jumping from one e-cig to another looking for the flavor and decent vape/throat hit ( don't need huge clouds) Actually tried .5 ohms on the ego one and thought it burnt the juice ?

Are you wanting a rebuildable? A Provari will handle a single coil tank fine. I agree, I would get the P3 for that extra versatility with building.

Some fine flavor RTAs:

Rose v2 is my favorite, but there's more of a learning curve
Kayfun Lite or v4
Taifun GT II
Erlkonigin
Gus Phenomenon

Those are all expensive attys.

Some of my favorite in the "affordable" category:

Lemo
UD Aga t5
EHPro Mini Buddha
HCigar HC Plus or HC

Thanks, don't want to get into rebuilding if I don't have too. How is the Aspire Nautilus Tank that comes with the P3 starter kit ? I assume I can just use The Aspire VIVI Nova Refill Heads with it ?

The Innokin itaste SVD 2.0 and MVPs have the same power setup as the Provari with broader capabilities at a quarter of the price. Actually, there are many that give better vaping flexibility. The Provari has really dropped behind...or other companies have reall up'd their game.

Just a consideration.

You need the Aspire Nautilus refill heads. They are available in BDC and BVC versions, just like the Aspire Vivi Nova heads. It's a bit confusing.

IMO a quality mod is the foundation of any vapers arsenal, and the Provari can fit that bill for most.
There are of course the power hounds that would find the Provari's output lacking.

If it's just better flavor that you want, you will need to get away from the clearo tanks completely because the topper, not the mod, is your problem.

This IMO is probably the best deal on a new Provari that you will ever find.
ProVari Gun Metal Grey Electronic Cigarettes: Gun Metal Grey Electric Cigarette, Gun Metal E-Cigarette
You might also want one of these to give it the more modern look.

Congrats after your long absence, Harvey! Glad to hear you've decided to make the leap.

I also started with cigalikes then egos, as many of us did. I eventually got a Provari, and was extremely happy with it from the very first vape. The device is solid, dependable, and consistent. I'll add to that "beautiful". I have a rather extensive collection of vapes, and the Provaris I own are essential to that collection. I never ever worry about something going wrong, or something not fitting, or firing. Well-made only begins to cover it. Do I think it's a good choice for you? I do, but of course you'd have to make that determination for yourself. Will it get the job done? That and then some. From what you said, and your vaping style, I believe the answer is a yes, abstolutely a resounding yes.

My Provis are all the 2.5 version, so I can't really speak to the differences between the Classic and the P3s. Others have and will undoubtedly jump in and let you know the specifics. :)

I'm also a non-rebuilder. I use the Nautilus tanks and have had nothing but a most marvelous experience with them. They take a different coil than your Vivi Nova tanks. The ones most of us like/use are the Nautilus BVC coils. Depending on your budget and time, I might suggest you look around for the Nautilus tanks, as prices vary.

Whichever direction you choose, best of luck to you, and do keep us posted. :)
