I finally decided to go with the v4l vapor king kr8 but i dont know which starter kit to get.

im not a heavy smoker so one battery would be enough. im also not sure whether to get the manual or automatic battery, or which size even.

should i get this one: auto battery Vapor4Life- Electronic Cigarette: Vapor King shorty Value Starter Kit

OR

Auto battery
Vapor4Life- Electronic Cigarette: Vapor King Value Kit with USB Charger (note: it says GENERIC battery, is that not as good as the regular brand ?)

OR Manual battery
Vapor4Life- Electronic Cigarette: Vapor King Ultimate Manual Battery Starter Kit

what is the advantage/disadvantage of the manual and automatic batteries? which starter kit is good enough for a light smoker, first time vaper?

thanks

Personally I'd go with the manual kit. It's your best bang for the buck. The generic batts just don't have any logo and only come in black and white. Other than that they are the same as the regular batts as far as I know. With the manuals you have much better control of your vaping. No need for a primer puff, just hold down the button before you start to take a drag. You really can't go wrong with any choice.

I still think you need two batteries. What would you do while the only one you have is charging?

I'd suggest the XL manual starter kit. I first bought the automatic, but now I also have the manual ones and prefer them. Once you price it out, you will find a kit is a less expensive way to go. Also get a selection of flavors and at various nicotine strengths. It took me a week to figure that part of it out before finding my comfort level.

You can't go wrong buying a V4L. Great products, awesome customer service and just good folk. You've made a good choice. Best of luck.

I know a lot of people that weren't heavy smokers, they all turned into heavy vape-ers :)

I personally vape 10 time more than I smoked.

Even if you smoke 1 or 2 digs a day I would get 2 or more batteries.
I would go with a manual kit, and pick up one auto battery as well.
Better to try both than wonder what might have been.

Good luck.

Definitely 2+ batteries; you need to have at least one available while the other is charging. I was a light smoker, PAD for 30+ yrs, and I started with an Auto. It gave me more of the feel of an analog, and I couldn't put my head around having to push a button everytime I wanted to vape. The Autos work great for me. I do have a couple of manuals, for use with carts that I refill, but generally I just buy pre-filled and use my Auto's. It's just personal preference ;-) Hope this helps, and Welcome. You might also take some time to look through the Welcome Mat sticky - it's full of great info.

Congrats on your decision to give vaping a try! Two batteries to start is the best since it takes about 3 hours to charge one if it's run down. The longer the battery the longer you will vape off of it. The shorty lasts about 2 or 3 hours while the XL will last about 6 to 8 hours ( YMMV ). With a cartomizer attached, the shorty is closer to the size of a king cigarette and a lighter weight in your fingers or dangling from you mouth.

The autos give you a closer approximation of a cigarette and there's no button to press. IMHO the generic battery has the best draw. It's what I started out with since it's economical. The diamond batteries (not sold in a kit, only separately) has the very best draw.

The manual batteries are sealed. You will save money when refilling the cartomizers. Manual batteries are sealed so e-liquid has no chance to leak down into the battery and possibly killing it, but are not hands free.

The generic kit is a good economical first choice. Get that and buy more cartomizers to start. Some light smokers need more nicotine than some heavy full-flavored smokers - you won't know until you try it. You can request one battery to be automatic and one battery to be manual in the comments field at checkout.

    Welcome Yellow!

Deciding on options can be daunting for a first time user.
Preferences vary as you can see above....so recommendations are hard.

All our Kits come with 2 batteries. When the charge runs down on 1 battery, put it on the charger and grab the 2nd battery. You really do need 2.....trust me on this!

Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with either (Manual or Auto) Vapor King Ultimate Kit. The Manual Kit is here: Vapor4Life- Electronic Cigarette: Vapor King Ultimate Manual Battery Starter Kit

If you would like the batteries to last a little longer in between charges and don't mind them being a little longer I really recommend the Ultimate XL Kit here: Vapor4Life- Electronic Cigarette: Vapor King Ultimate XL Starter Kit

Where it gets tough for a new user is finding a few good flavors they like and getting the proper strength to suit them.
You get one pack of 5 cartomizers with every Kit. I really recommend looking at the sampler packs that have variety of flavors at first. Consider getting a tobacco sampler or menthol sampler as the pack that comes with the Kit and adding a Mixed Berry or something similar to get an idea what some of the various flavors are like. Don't start with too high or too low a strength. 18mg is a good starting place. You can adjust from there if you think you need to go up or down in strength. The Sampler Packs can be found here: Sampler Packs of Vapor King Cartomizers

    I hope this helps...enjoy!

If your not a heavy smoker you could go with 2 batts,a charger, and a few different sampler packs.Get some 5ml bottles of liquid to sample and use for topping off cartos. If you buy each piece you could get 1 auto and 1 manual and see which suits you better.Start small and when you decide what you like, put in another order.

    hey guys

THANKS again for the warm welcomes and great replies (and welcome song lol). this is really a unique forum community, very friendly and helpful people.

i will go with the two (generic) battery kit as everyone suggested, and ask for one auto and one manual as dawnsfolly and bighitter suggested, and then i guess a sampler pack as the 5-pack cartomizer choice as keyzgirl and wade suggested.....sounds like a good start? just hope the batteries are truly the same

im just curious because i saw they had coupons in another thread going on (for free shipping and 10% off), are there any coupons codes available right now?

thanks so much one more time

Welcome!!! You look like you're going in the right direction. Just make sure you get like...3-4 sampler packs. The more you try the better.

    you made a great choice.
here's the reason why generic batteries from V4L are just fine....V4L doesn't build batteries. They order them with their logo printed on the sides. why would they sell these if the quality is different? i would think they are made side-by-side and just not logoed, so they are a tad cheaper.

the logoed batteries come in more color and LED variations. thats the only difference i can tell.
