Its probably been asked before but I searched and didn't find anything.
I see Vegetable Glycerin is derived from several different types of plants. In your experience is there one that is better or healthier than another? I'm seeing coconut derived and palm derived among others. I wouldn't even consider using a VG derived from corn for my own personal preference. Thoughts?

The most pure glycerin (glycerol) available in the USA is Glycerin USP. If you are in the UK look for Glycerin BP. If you are in Europe look for Glycerin EP. In Japan, Glycerin JP. These are pharmaceutical grades for glycerin and the best and most pure obtainable.

Glycerin is a chemical, a molecule, C3H8O3. Water is a chemical and a molecule, H2O. These are the only two chemicals found in Glycerin USP.

Some people don't like corn because a lot of corn in the USA is GMO (genetically modified). Genes that are placed in plant dna to make GMOs are proteins, just like the rest of the molecules in dna. Proteins are big, big, big molecules called macromolecules. These proteins are much bigger and more complex than the relatively simple glycerin or water molecules and they would not be present in glycerin if the glycerin was made from GM corn.

Any kind of plant will have a huge number proteins, not just DNA. Glycerin contains none of the proteins that are found in any kind of plant, regardless of what plant was used to make it.

So whether glycerin is made from a daisy, a rat or a mushroom the product will not contain any of the molecules that make these living things what they are, except for glycerin and water.

Thank you for enlightening me. That's a great answer
