Which wire is which (SS vs T1)

So I ordered some TC wires (SS316 and T1) from the same supplier. I get them in today and the supplier did not label them. Also both are the same gauge so I can't tell by size. So I am trying to figure out which is which. If you have used both and can help me it would be great.

Here are their characteristics:
Wire #1- Is very shiny, easy to bend and shape but very hard to cut.
Wire #2- Is more of a dull silver color, harder and more springy, but easier to cut.

Is there any other way to know for sure which is which?

Wire #2 is ti. Your description was enough, ti will be much less malleable than SS, and will be a much more greyish color. The other way to tell for certain is cut equal lengths from each and measure the resistance.

Checking resistance is the only sure way to tell. I have T1 titanium wire that looks almost silver is so shiny with SS wire that looks almost like kanthal. As a guide, 11 wraps of titanium on a 2mm rod yields about .17 on a meter. Good luck

Titanium will spark Bright White when it is Ground.

If the OP has a Dremel Tool with a Grinding Wheel, they could do a Quick-n-Dirty spark test.
