It's only been 6 days since I picked up a PV and started vaping, I'm loving it so far and the cigarette cravings seem to have subsided.. wouldn't label me a non-smoker just yet cause I just know that a slip-up would put me back on that so familiar pack-a-day. However even on day 1 of vaping I realised that I neither need to have that much coffee anymore nor does it complement my vape flavors! So I switched to all sorts of stuff. My morning brew is still there but after that it's fresh juices, teas, occasional soda drinks, sparkling water (my new great love) and even fresh water, which I was having way too little of.
:2cool: Overall I'm feeling quite proud of myself right now since I consider alcohol, caffeine and tobacco to be the 3 major addictions of modern day life that should be dealt with.. with much more vigor than let's say pot which is still getting such a bad rep or even internet porn which is now labeled an addiction for reasons I cannot understand

Has anyone noticed something similar?

Yes - I can vape at my desk at work. Previously it was high priority to get my tea and then I would sip at tea all day, going through a 6 cup carafe of tea and more. Now sometimes hours go by and then I notice I didn't get my tea. Or I do get tea and forget to sip at it because I am vaping and my hand to mouth thing.

However - it is important to stay well hydrated, especially when you start vaping, since it can be drying. So remember to drink liquids!

I work midnight shift and always drank alot of coffee. Since vaping, my coffee consumption has been more than cut in half. I figure since nicotine and caffeine have a similar effect on the body that I am getting more nic from vaping, therefore my body requires less caffeine for the stimulant effect.

Sure have! I haven't brewed a pot of coffee since two weeks after vaping nor consumed any alcoholic beverages. I can't believe how much money I used to waste on those addictions.

Instead of drinking coffee I drink tea - caffeinated in the morning - and lots of soda (maybe not so healthy, but cheaper than my coffee habit). However, I did go through a bout of withdrawal, but it didn't last more than two weeks.

vsinner...if you are still getting the urge to smoke, get yourself a higher level of nic and when that urge hits, vape it for awhile. The urge will subside....just don't give in to it. It takes some willpower but you'll make it. Good luck to you.
They're very infrequent and only last a few seconds now, maybe I should have gotten higher nic to begin with but it's worked so far so another couple of days should have me free of them.. don't want to mess with a working plan at this point.

You sure this doesn't have anything to do with the fact it's 200 degrees outside?
Used to that, would just switch to iced coffees and have even more "to cool me down"

It's nice to see people had similar experiences, I thought I was being strange :)

Good job!

I used to drink a ton of soda (Diet Dr. Pepper) I'd have a few cups of coffee in the morning, and the rest of the day I would literally drink nothing but soda, with some juice thrown in here and there.

Once I started vaping, my taste for soda has diminished, and I much prefer a tall glass of water. I've probably only had a few cans of soda over the last couple weeks, where as previously it would have been like 10 cases of soda over the last couple of weeks.

I'm not sure why exactly, I was thinking perhaps I'm getting plenty of sweet and delicious flavors with my PV, so I don't desire sweet soda that much anymore. I was also thinking that maybe my taste buds are actually starting to work again, and water tastes different. I used to HATE the taste of water, it would even make me gag sometimes. But since I stopped smoking, water tastes delicious to me, and soda just doesn't hit the spot anymore.

Lots of advantages to switching to vaping it seems, keep up the good work!

I've not yet been able to quit. Call me weak, I just struggle so much with the cravings. How long does it take for them to subside? Also, is there anything natural that can be used to help fight them?

I'd say they were very mild, few and far between by day 4! vaping definitely takes the edge off and I've also found that for me mints were a real big help. I would get some regular mints, nothing too strong or claiming to be special, the ones with the hole in the middle - original type.. with sugar (can I mention brand names?) and chew on them whenever I was getting a bit stressed. the e-cig worked so good I only went through a 5-pack of them (some random other mints here and there thrown in)

Now (ending day 6) I get a very weak craving after a good meal, a nice proper draw (I only learned how to do that today) from the pv and I'm back to normal

To be honest, since I've gotten my eGo with Dual Coil Mega Cartos last Wednesday, I've only had cravings a few times. Before I got the eGo, I had a M40x style super mini, couldn't stop smoking, and had cravings all the time.

The quality of the PV being used plays a HUGE part in how well it works to get you off cigarettes, or at least it did for me. With my m40x I did cut way back, but I was still smoking, and was just not satisfied. With my eGo, I've completely stopped smoking, and almost never have cravings.

If you can afford it, and you don't currently have one, I'd suggest moving up to something of better quality. Once you get something that you absolutely love, it will be a lot easier to quit the cigarettes.

Thank you for responding! It gives me hope. My husband has been so good about quitting, I have got to just put my head to it and do it. No more excuses! My husband makes our mods(I think thats what they are called). He has made several for me to try, its so different than smoking, I need to figure out something to do with my hands. It feels Weird using a box in place of a cigarette.

First post-I have been smoke free since June 24th. I too have noticed that my Diet Coke obsession is dieing down. Diet Coke tasted so good with an analogue. I still start the day with 2 cups of coffee, but in this heat, I'm drinking a lot of tea and I'm finally drinking a glass or two of water every day. I did notice that lemon tea interfered with the taste of my juices, so I'm going to avoid it from nowon.

Well speaking of emulating a real cigarette there are apparently a couple actually worthwhile automatic batts on the market now. In other words, they actually work like they are supposed/meant to and don't cut off too soon or get activated by stuff like random noises. Also iirc don't have the issue where you can't get any juice on the contact area of the thing which is a big pain obviously. A version of The Go Go (or was it Echo...who can keep track) was one offhand? Anyhoo, you can just puff on it hands-free which is obviously nice and more like smoking plus other obvious advantages for situations like driving.
