With the Vapor
So the wife and I decided to see Avatar in the theaters. While waiting for it to open a manager was entering from the front door. I politely asked him if we could use our PV's in the theater and explained to him that they are not apart of the tobacco ban and only put off a "Water Vapor" He looked at it for a second and said "Sure! Why not." So we buy our tickets and take our seats. I'm vaping on my black 510 manual batt with a m4 atty adapted to it. I notice this couple behind me start talking.

Wife: Is he smoking?
Husband: I don't smell smoke.
Wife: Look he just did it again!
Husband: Did you see the cherry! It was BLUE!

They didn't say much after that. When the movie was over I saw them outside while heading to my car. The old lady was trying to tell me that a car is parked in a bad way behind me, I said to her. Hey, were you wondering if I was smoking during the movie? She said yes I was, I then told her about our E-cigs as the wife gave her a demonstration. She was blow away that they had these and said they had both given up smoking because of all the bans. I handed her one of my many cards for different e-cig sites "This one happened to be a Innovapor card" and said, If you have anyone that smokes you should give them this card.

Fort Bragg Coast Cinema's Welcomes Vapers! So if you are ever in Fort Bragg CA and want to see a movie, you don't have to worry about stealth vaping.

First off I commend you for asking the manager to use them before doing so, that being said:

Sorry, but these are one of the times I have to disagree with public vaping. I just hate to see people use their PV's blatantly in area's you wouldn't be able to smoke anyway. There was one thread with this guy vaping away in walmart, that was a bit annoying. I even find it rude in restaurants. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should- especially in a dark theater where the vapor becomes very obvious in the lighting of the projector. Some people do this just to antagonize others into a reaction so they can tell them they aren't smoking "neener!".

My general rule of thumb is: if I couldn't smoke there before, I don't vape. I think when I first stated almost a year ago, I did it everywhere just for the attention and pride of NOT smoking. There is a cool factor too it but there is also a respect factor. I have friends who'd prefer I didn't vape in their house as well, hubby and I respect that and go outside. It's a perception thing for some but it's always a respect thing.

Just my 2 cents.

That depends on how old you are. I remember days when you could smoke wherever you wanted and to be in a "Smoking Section" didn't mean you were sitting outside 15' from any doors.....

You know that cup holder you have now on your seat used to be an ash tray......

I agree with you for the most part, but still very discretely vape a little in public. During Avatar (yes in 3D IMAX), I vaped twice but concealed with some napkins and kind of bent down a little. I took a weak cart and inhaled very slowly so as to not draw any attention to myself. In other public places, I will usually confine vaping to the bathroom stall, or on some occasions a store remote back aisle. For the arrogant people who publicly vape out of spite however, I put them in the same class as the dorks who walk around talking loudly to themselves with bluetooth phone earpieces, or talking on the cell phone in the checkout line, etc. With regard to Acroma's comment, I too remember growing up with relatives smoking in the car, full ashtrays, smoke filled restaurants, even idiots smoking at gas pumps; it was a very common thing in the 60's and 70's. It really wasn't until the mid 90's that smokers began to be considered as criminal baby killers with their lethal second hand smoke. I do not resent the increasingly aggressive behavior of the anti-smoking activists, nor do I feel compelled to react with spite after discovering ecigs; I am simply content and happy to be able to satisfy my nicotine addiction and anxiety issues without having to parade it around in front of everyone. This is a good thread, happy (discrete) vaping to all!

The biggest problem with the public vaping ebing seen as arrogant is the general lack of knowledge about PV for anyone who doesn't own one. I can see where you're coming from and I'm inclined to agree, but the more people see them and learn about them the less arrogant you look.

Having said that, I vape all day at work but I do so when no one is around, or I take it too the bathroom.

Side note: I went to see sherlock holmes last night and aside form one couple two rows down my ladyfriend and I were the only ones there. Yet I forgot to take advantage of the situation and vape. :)

I vape in public places. Movies, shopping ect. I do not hide my ecig although I do cover the LED during movies so as not to distract other people. But I will also hold in the vapor until there is none left before I exhale.

This way I am in no way intruding upon other peoples personal rights, there is no secondhand vapor. The only time I would even bother asking is if I were in someone's personal home.

Why? They are not smoking any more...

Huh? Freedom?

Finally, a valid point. This is an obv one. If your vape or led is going to hinder someone else then that makes sence. However you can just hide the LED and power man hit the PV so very little if any vape comes out...

My general rule of thumb is: if I couldn't smoke there before, I don't vape.

Since when do americans respect each other these days? Oh and for the record. I -always- stelth vape. I never like the attention, however I do it anywhare I want.

I have friends who'd prefer I didn't vape in their house as well, hubby and I respect that and go outside.

To the car and leave.

It's a perception thing for some but it's always a respect thing.

For some we still have "freedom" and could care less what other people think....

Not to start any trouble but I 99% disagree.
