Whistle Tip and HV Alert

I just had something happen that I think everyone using whistle tips should be aware of - not sure if I had a defective odd ball or what. I was using my 5 volt PT with a HV 501 atty and a whistle tip. The HV does create more heat than the other attys but I usually let it cool between drips.

However, all at once when I took a drag and a plastic piece that was centered in the top of the whistle tip came loose and flew into my mouth. The piece was small enough that it could have gotten lodged in my lung. I assume that it was glued and the 2 weeks of use must have melted the glue letting it come apart. I bought this tip from a reputable supplier on this forum.

I just ordered some drip t-tips from NHaler so that I do not ever use these whistle tips again.

Anyone else out there concerned - wanted to give you a heads up. 8-o

Mine come off my 901 tips all the time, sometimes on the 510. They are not glued in. Nature of the beast. Happens mostly when I am biting down on the tips. Just have to be aware of it and slow the vape down.

Yes, and nothing to do with high voltage. Just happens. Pretty shocking the first time. I think most of them do it but the 901 whistle is the smallest. After the first time, I notice when they start getting loose.

Yeah, this has absolutely nothing to do with high voltage...that little piece at the top of the mouthpiece is like a liquid trap, so that top piece comes off to make it easier to clean I assume.

I found this out by almost swallowing one of these right after I started vaping. I had not read anywhere on the forum about this. I email the supplier and told them and they said they had not heard of this happening. After that several people had the same problem.

The first thing I would do when I got new caps was to take a paperclip and pop these 2 things out. The only thing they were doing was collecting liquid that would get in my mouth.

If you drip the best thing to do is get a t-tip.

I had the same thing happen to me. Almost swallowed the little bugger LOL. I've found tho the carts are better without that little piece (altho can't really put my finger on why their better, they just seem that way)

When I drip I used to use a 901 with the tip taken out. It worked great. I have a T-tip now though

wow!! i guess thats yet another reason to put on my list when people ask me why i spend the extra money on a stainless tip..
