White marks inside my Reo

Hey...maybe I didn't notice this when I first got my Reo, but whats the deal with this?

I took off the delrin thing at the top and it goes around the entire top of my Reo to the other side...

I dont paint behind the delrin insert if we do we have problems installing the insert
