White substance on wool?

Just got my DSE 901, put the battery on charge and within 5minute's it was green..

Can i use it now?

Also in the cartridge, the cotten-woll type thing has what looks like white paint on it, is this normal?

It should be ok to use as apparantly there is no memory effect with theses batteries.

PS Not sure about the white paint though!!!!??? Is it just a squidged together bit of the wool??

I've read mention of glue being on the batting inside carts, could be what you're seeing.

Also, I agree with Rusty. From what I read there's no memory effect on lithium batteries. Most suppliers prescribe a particular way of initial charging but I don't think it's necessary but I also have been known to be wrong.

I'll try a different cart, but it literally looks like PVA/tip-ex has been wiped onto the side of the cotton wool.

Same on the other cart.. mhm, i think it's just glue but i don't want to start inhaling alien substances

If it's not a lot of glue, trim it off. I think the glue only leaves a bad taste when heated but I would definitely recommend removing it some how. There are many threads in the Mods forum on different fillers you may use. Might consider just replacing it all together.
