You are soo correct, LAME that it doesn't come with Flash & Java, totally!
If I had, I wouldn't have even bothered to look at it, let alone buy one. I admit, it was an impulse buy, and (hopefully) my last one. And no, I didn't know the iPhone didn't have it either, because I had decided long ago not to get one for numerous other reasons. (that I wont bore you all with)
Will not due to the lack of flash support. I <3 Mac but that stuff peeves me off. I know the its really cool but I have a MacBook Pro that is cooler.

I think this is where many folks are making a mistake. This is not a laptop replacement. My goal with my iPad(when I get it) is to have a portable way to be on the web, watch video, answer email and little else............
I too have a laptop (actually 3 of them) that I really like, but if I can avoid lugging it around and I can dump my $40/mo wireless card through cricket, then the iPad will do everything I need it to.
Those that expect it to be a laptop replacement have unrealistic expectations.
Watch video? Only video you'll be watching on that thing is from Youtube, netflix, or itunes, that's it!
Damit!! T-Mobile just released a new phone, the HTC HD2, now I have to get that! When will the shopping ever end?!?!

no ipad for me... i have 2 netbooks for less than an ipad and at least there is physical keyboard and HDMI port for netflix and dvd/bluray... while it's a cool toy that's all it is IMO... way to overpriced for what it is.

I was dying for an ipad, then I came to my senses. I want a tablet netbook like a Lenovo s10-3t.
I have been messing with linux, so I really want to try and stick with stuff I can put that on once I figure out how I can get all the programs I need to work on it.

i got to play with the lenovo s10 3t with the 10 hours battery life over at frys electronics here in phx... i liked it but a little over weight and that floor model was not working
so i went to best buy then they talked me into buying a macbook pro lol where did that come from hahahahbut the ipad is nice we use it here at the office doing inventory.. then i take it home and sit on couch with skype or facebook i wish it was only $300 that would have been really nice.
