The industry is fully saturated with what I would call "conventional" ecig gear...
From starter kits to what's called "3.7" pv's (that push what the battery can put out without a chip to boost it), to VV pv's.
All the atomizers, cartomizers, tank attys, and pv's that come from China, to custom USA made 3.7's like the Precise line to bottom feeders.
And high end VV chipped Provari's, Darwins, and even VV bottom feeders .
The auto pump top feed Eclipse-eq ($300) hit the scene with a SPLAT.... the first run had pump issues and folded.
The notcig VVPV, a manual pump Top Feeder is out, and yep, first run owners including me are still waiting for a d/t adapter to complete it.
On the business end of the device, rebuildable atomizers (Genesis, iatty, Odyseuss et al) have come out for big bucks and yep, you have to make your own coils... not every one can master that.
Carto Tanks are the rage with a good PV (VV or non VV).
IMO the atomizer is the key to the next step: better tasting with lots of vapor.
I've found that rebuildables offer the best in taste and some of them are great vapor producers but so far in my experience, building your own coil is fraught with setbacks. ymmv. For the money you can get a ton of conventional atomizers that put out clouds of vapor matched with the right voltage/watts yet without the greatest flavor.
HH357's at $23. and up are said to have incredible taste and vapor production, but at that price, and with them being "disposable" just like a regular atomizer, they don't last long enough to warrant the cost (ymmv).
Short of the HH357, I like Iken i06 to come up pretty close... but not quite imo, but that's what i use the most.
