Being a free American, I can no longer play for real money online. But I still play for "funny money" at PokerStars.net from time to time. PokerStars has "Home Games" now, and just out of curiosity I was wondering who would be interested in a ECF poker club? No real money involved, just for fun.

All the best!

Isn't it funny that folks in Russia are free to play poker but we aren't??

Land of the Free?

Hmm ...

Not a heck of a lot of support for the idea but that's probably due to the lack of exposure. 17 views and 4 reply's isn't bad, is it?

At any rate... what now? Am I allowed to start a Poker Club and refer to it as "ECF Poker Club?"

I don't know all that much about the "Poker Club" end of PokerStars, or the Club end of ECF for that matter, so this may not even be possible. I did manage to start ONE club at PokerStars so I could educate friends on the workings of PokerStars without outside pressures. But that's about the extent of my knowledge. How would we want it to work? Scheduled games? Tournaments? Sit and go's?

I'm not sure I have the time for this... or how much time it takes to manage such a thing! Why didn't I think about that before bringing it up?!?

I'm guessing that unless a ton of folks suddenly started showing interest, you'd probably have to limit it to scheduled games or short tourneys. I think most folks might have scheduling issues at some pont too so unfortunately, quick pick-up games are probably not realistic. Just kinda thinking out loud ... :)

I think you're right, I wonder if we did start if others would show later on? I'm thinking I shouldn't refer to "ECF" until I get permission to do so. Perhaps "The Vapor Games?" Name suggestions are welcome.

How do I know they are ECF members when the ask to play? Perhaps a secret hand shake?

IF you want... let me know when you are available to play and I will try setting something up on a schedule. I will also set up the table and try changing the name of the existing poker club.

I'm interested, haven't logged on in years but I'm sure my login still works. I would love for them to come to some legislation, part of the rake going to the government, anything to get back to playing for real money. I was never into high stakes. I just loved playing on the smaller money tables. I'm pretty sure the government could make a killing in taxes if they just legalized and regulated it. I'm in regardless, just pm me with the details and what not. I'm pretty sure my name there is the same as here, use it for everything, lol.

I play hold 'em. And I stealth-vape at the card table. :2cool:
I fiddle online, but I don't know if I'd want to play big $ online - there's SO many complicating factors (bots and software)...
Still, it would be nice to have the option!
Anyway - not sure if there's enough folks to get "organized" for an ECF poker club or not - but thought I'd reply that I play!

Well kuel. People are showing up! I don't think we want to play for real money, even if the opportunity arose. I used to play nickel and dime myself but I think this should probably be funny money regardless. I don't think ECF would want to be associated with real gambling... hell, they may not want to be associated with phoney gambling. I have no idea at this point.

Who do I talk to about such things?
