So I rolled a 1.1 ohm coil for my AGA and stuck it on my new Natural with a fresh battery. It's OK. Honestly, it's not chalking as well as with 1.6 on my Vamo. I suppose I can try an even lower coil (using 28 with about 4 wraps) but so far, I'm not terribly impressed. Unfortunately being 1.1 ohms, it's too low to run on my Vamo, so I can't even plug it on there and find a good voltage, which would let me know if I need one less wrap. I'm just worried that if I take a wrap off to get down to .9ish ohms, I'll only have 3ish wraps, and won't be getting the surface contact with my cotton wick.

You have to mod the Natural....by sanding down all the contacts to get rid of the chrome plating over the brass. Go to the AVP forum and read about it. It takes five minutes to do. You get about a 3 watt improvement on a 1.0 ohm coil. Do you have good quality batteries? That makes a difference as well. The atty makes a difference. My Cobra on the Natural I vape at 15+ watts....same set up with a chinese clone I am only vaping at 12 watts. Which is a lot better than some people are experiencing with their ZAUs ...1.4 voltage drop with a 0.9ohm coil...so that is vaping at 9 watts which is horrible.

your using this on a cotton wick? i actually never have tried the 28g at low resistances with a cotton wick. all of my imputs for this wire and low resistance is on a ss mesh wick, so really cant comment on the performance with a cotton wick. do you do any ss wicks? or has all your set-ups been with cotton? when commenting a few days ago for you to try this mechanical mod w/28g and low res, i thought you were talking about trying it out with ss wicks not cotton.

I really don't have any interest in SS wicks. Seems like a lot of fiddling. I'm LOVING cotton wicks (compared to glass) but am still trying to find a good setup with them at low resistances. I've got one in my AGA right now (about 1 - 1.1 ohms with a 4/5 wrap) and working out some slight wicking issues.

I tried sanding the positive contact, but got quite far without seeing brass. I'll try taking off a bit more later. Got a link to the other thread, or shall I just try and search?

Not sure...I remember a while a ago Ninja did a review and he complained about the high internal resistance of the device vs an Ihybrid but thats all I know. He didn't like the performance Zen Hybrid at all.

EDO - thanks, I'll give that a shot tonight after a few beers (can't play with tools without a few beers!)

I worked out my slight wicking problem with a bit of fiddling, and my 1.1 ohm AGA is working pretty well with my Natural in 350 mode, cotton wick and all. I just ordered a few IGO's, which supposedly come with some mesh, so maybe I'll give it a shot when they arrive.

Just today I've wrapped about 4 wick/coil combos with cotton and 28 wire for my AGA, trying to find a sweet spot. I'm somewhat happy with the setup I've got, knowing that it will get better with some finagling.

Either way, I'm pretty happy with how it's vaping. It's no steam train like I can get with a slightly higher ohm coil on my VAMO at around 9 watts, but it will be a nice pocket piece for work, without having to worry about leakage, accidental button pushing etc.

Which contact point are you talking about. If its the switch, I sanded it down but there wasn't any brass under it. Every other contact point came offf easy peasy and it's a noticeable differance in power.

On a side note I tried out a .6 ohm coil tonight and it was too much for me. I really like .7-.8 though.

If you're referring to the IGO-L, it only comes with mesh if you order it from steammonkey, as far as I know. Stock it only comes with silica, a bit of wire, replacement o-rings and a screw.

You sand the positive screw....top and bottom. Negative screw the top. You then have to sand down the sides of the 2 inch rod that attaches to the negative screw on the switch side. When you take out that rod and press on the switch you will notice a little pin pop out ....you sand down as well. These are all the contact points on the Natural and they are chrome plated brass.

well this guy was so hot to find a Hybrid to try some 28g and SLR, I hope he's not disapointed
