Me i did within hours, had the urge to pick one up but not from lack of nic just out of habit, a few weeks later I smoked one just cause i wanted one and it tasted soo dang nasty i couldnt make it to 4 drags and threw it out.

have not looked back, other then blind habit once in a while like after dinner i look for them and go oh yea duh.

I hadn't planned on quitting altogether right away when I decided to try vaping, but since the day I got my eGo-C kit in the mail I've had maybe 1/2 of one cig (about a week after I started and I just couldn't finish it). I took to vaping like a fish to water and it's worked even better than I had hoped. Don't EXPECT to be able to quit right away as everyone is different, but don't be surprised if you do! Vape on!

I got my ego and some juice two weeks ago. Since then my cigarette smoking has steadily decreased. Not because I was trying to quit, but the juice I was smoking was so good and the analogs started to taste really bad. In five days I smoked half a cigarette (my battery died and I thought I needed a smoke). The cigarette tasted awful and I couldn't finish it. Banana Nut Bread is so much better

On Oct 25 my buddy picked up vape kit from the local smoke shop. He had me try it and told me it was a game changer. We both had tried regular ecigs in the past, but they died out in a short time and wasn't worth it in my eyes. Vaping is a whole new level to me. I placed an order online for some vaping stuff, and on Oct 29 I had my last analog. I've been vaping for a month and love it. We now have 4 buddies and my mom vaping and each one of them haven't had an analog since. To me it is a complete game changer. Wish I found vaping sooner. Oh yea, I was a pack a day smoker for 18 years.

If quit means I didnt buy anymore - I did. If it means have smoked a single one - I didnt. I have smoked a couple 3, or 4 in the last 6 months - at the beach or bbq with buds...........I personally promised myself I would never buy another pack - so as far as I am concerned I have quit smoking. I may smoke a couple more in the future if I want to............I think that is what keeps me going too..........I know I can smoke if I want to..............but that is me and for me...........

Took me 5 to 6 months.

I smoked for over 40 years, and was smoking about 3 packs a day. Started with the cigarette sized e-cigs, worked my way up to the ego type ones, and wound up with a Provari. By the time I got the Provari, I was still smoking 1 or 2 cigarettes a day, but then I was able to quit the cigarettes at that point.

It's been about 3 months since I had a cigarette, and the fact that I don't remember off the top of my head exactly how long it has been tells me that I may be ready for the next phase in my little plan.

I am now going to wheen myself back down to the cigarette sized e-cigs. I got a Smoov kit in the mail yesturdasy, and have been using just it since.

Either way, you should do it in a way that works for you. There's no rules...:)

I did... well had a 1 pack transition. I was concerned it wouldn't work out, but it did, and like gardnerd4me said, no "anxious feeling". Literally, 20 years smoking and got up to > 1 PAD routinely, and once that pack ran out (day 1) no looking back - didn't even miss it. Got an ego-C starter kit and a couple tobacco-flavored (and one "mountain dew"-cantaloupe combo) e-juices... been over 6 weeks w/out a cig and after 3 weeks, I actually noticed my sense of smell improving and how cigarettes smell awful - funny how when you're smoking it doesn't phase you. Keep with it - you'll find what works.

It took me a month. I slowly tapered off from a pack a day to 1/2 to 5. By then vapor was tasting soo much better. I'd say give it time set a goal and dont cheat you can do it! I'm at 60 days no cigs!

I even cut the nic level down from 16mg to 6. I smoked for 20 years and the doctor says my blood pressure is normal and my lungs sound good!

I'm just wondering how many of you all quit analogs once they got their first e cig/pv? I've tried my friends' ecigs and am getting my first one in the mail tomorrow. Hoping I can get off analogs right away, maybe input could give me motivation for that? Plus I'm simply curious.

I almost did. My better half wanted to try them and I bought a setup for her for Xmas. That required that same paralysis-analysis research that everyone else has done who is a member of this forum. So I ended up beyond overbuying a setup for her. It arrived before Xmas and with me for once buying gifts well in advance. It me thinking and curious so I ordered for myself as well and started playing around alone and trying things. I had time off toward the end of the year so just toyed around with them and got familiar both before she got it as a gift and and the week after. I think it was the maybe January 2nd where I woke up, was vaping, and after a couple hours went...why not see how long you can last?

I found the first two days filled with liking the eCig better but still having the mental draw to "why aren't you smoking?!" It was truly a time where you're timing yourself on how long you haven't had a cigarette and where every two hours felt like 20 hours, but where you know it's just a mental thing.

But if we're counting from when you made the decision to "actually try", I think I would qualify as someone who quit immediately...at least for the first six months or so.

Have hope....but supplement it with a real want to make it happen.

I would say that the combination of initially overbuying to have options in flavors and NIC levels helped me both have a new toy to try but also options to find what was right for me. I could easily see people ending up with one horrible flavor that just doesn't work for them...and then having to try another...and another...and another... That doesn't bode well will trying to make a definitive change.

Read, browse, and confuse yourself with all the information out there. :) But take in the comments and comparison on flavors and levels that people that sound similar enough to you have to say.. You may make a lot of crappy initial purchases, but if you find something right enough, I think easy just comes.....easier.
