Although it might be too late to make much of a difference and I doubt it will carry much weight, I feel the need to write to someone about all of the negative press and how those calling for bans are seen as overly extreme to solve simple problems.... something similar to all of the "letters to the editor" type things I'm envisioning....
I'm wanting to address why adults can't be treated like adults, parents can't e treated like parents and why people feel something as simple as just making a legal age limit to buy and use vaping supplies requires safety studies, online sales bans and regulating production and juice control.... these are just things I have seen being requested in a lot of articles and while I understand the need for studies and testing, I don't think stuff should be banned and freedoms taken away because someone says its not safe.... bleach is dangerous, we know (or should know) not to mix with other chemicals or to drink it or let kids play around it yet it is still sold with no restrictions, for example.... if vaping is found to be dangerous or not as beneficial as we have come to believe, why should it be restricted or banned? Why can't warnings suffice?
I read an article earlier today saying they should be regulated and juice controlled simply because teens, specifically middle school aged, have tried them.... seriously? Age limits won't keep them from trying them, banning usage indoors like smoking won't keep them from trying them, just like smoking bans and restrictions havent kept them from trying vaping.... it also said the taxes on analogs keeps underage smoking low.... how?
I don't have a problem being forced to vape outside with smokers, its a habit and moreso now with the wife potentially being pregnant again and having a son.... and I don't have issues with age limits on sales, everywhere I have bought from or looked around at requires age verification....
And I'm aware of the theories of BT and all of the medical companies losing money because of vaping and government tax revenue losses and overprotection nanny state stuff, but seriously....
Whether it makes an impact or not, who should I address this to?
