Hi all,

I just recently experienced my first dry mouth episode and went into a panic because I couldn't taste my juice at all. My tongue and mouth went totally dry- it was my own fault in that I failed to stay hydrated whilst vaping. It scared the heck out of me because I enjoy my juice flavors so much- and they keep me away from analogs.

Biotene was recommended to me to hep with this situation. Do any of you use it to prevent flavor loss? And if so, have you or do you use it on a regular basis over a long period of time?

And since this condition came on, I also have made a point of sipping water or tea when vaping- and it seems to work.

Do you think that changing the ratio of PG to VG makes a difference? Or do they both dry out the mouth equally? I've been using a 50-50 mix. I enjoy flavor over anything else, so I"m thinking of switching to a 70-30 mix using PG because one gets a more intense flavor than VG... is this right? Or should I go with PG only instead. TH isn't as big a deal to me as flavor.

Thanks for your advice in advance :D

Hi Mollie,

I did use Biotene for dry mouth but its effects didn't last very long. Then I found Oasis Mouth Spray. You can get it at Walgreens and other stores too.

It has a very light taste and kept my mouth moisturized a lot longer than Biotene. I don't use it to prevent flavor loss, only for dry mouth when it occurs.

Flavor loss is common every once in while. In a year of vaping, I've had it happen 4 times. A menthol liquid will sometimes bring taste back, or it will clear up on its own after a few days.

VG and PG are both drying, though I find PG drys me out more. PG also has more flavor. I use a 50/50 mix, but it's really a matter of personal preference.

Definitely stay hydrated. Vape, sip, vape, sip, repeat.

If your taste doesn't return after a week or so, you may want to see your doctor in case it's a medication your taking or something other than vaping related.
Hope this helps and good luck to you.
