I think the issue with China and their products as a whole is the lack of quality control. While I'm sure the ingredients are fine, in the last few years there have been massive recalls in the US on Chinese products from toys to drywall. All of them were major recalls which endangered public health.

Just because I'm not smoking a cigarette anymore doesn't mean I shouldn't worry about where my juice comes from.

As previously stated, however, it's relatively easy to find any negative reviews on a supplier or manufacturer - so that should go a long way to help eliminate any risks.

Certainly not Uncle Willy, but it's undeniably better.

In China, they tend to cover those things up for as long as they can. They have food supply problems as well, but it doesn't often get reported. Remember a while back, there were some death sentences handed down in China over infant food/milk/formula (forget which one).

It went on for quite a while until the population demanded justice.

That wouldn't happen here. The recent cantaloupe recall was voluntary, as soon as the farmer realized there was a problem they destroyed the entire crop.

Is that going to be true for ALL companies? Absolutely not. But I feel my chances are much better from an American manufacturer.

Thanks for the feed back guys...I have been smoking for 43 years (2 packs a day) and I am still alive, but I do understand the points made here so thank you....By the way companies really do not care if there customers die as long as the death does not lead back to them...I know a friend who works in the meat department of a supermarket and he told me that they soak some chicken in bleach to take the bad smell out of it.

It's pretty well known that the Pharma industry looks at the cost to settle / defend lawsuits vs profit on the drug .. if more money is made than settlements paid, guess what .. ??

Point is, there is no guarantee of safety and there never has been .. and usually it's the Benjamins that decide ..

It amazes me how concerned people get about e-cigs and what there putting in there body. When all of us have been smoking cigs. for however many years, a product we know will kill us... If only we were that concerned about what was in it before we started smoking cigs. or even during for that matter...

I don't understand the "you smoked so shut up" argument, I have been vaping for about a year and a half but I never once remember thinking, man let me stop inhaling y so I can inhale equally dangerous x, the old lets move out of the acid pit into the boiling tar pit and don't complain about the tar pit you use to be in acid line....

We have every right as consumers to be concerned and question any product we spend cash on both before and after we buy it. Our prior decisions do not shackle us to a lifetime of stupid buying decisions anymore than that questionable decision at the bar in our 20's dictates every date for the rest of our lives.

If you are really concerned you can DIY or find a local maker and go visit the work area the juice is made in. Beyond that find out as much as you can about the content, some juice vendors (Halo comes to mind) have gone above and beyond in testing and reporting the tests of what is in the juice they are selling and even how it reacts at different temperatures.

Most of the hardware is from China. And even if you buy an American mod instead of a slim ecig, the part that goes in your mouth, which will probably be a cartomizer, is made in China. But there are plenty of respectable US businesses making reasonable profits on selling the Chinese ecigs and parts (as well as a bunch of glitzy seedy ripoff ones making too much money - avoid those). And dozens of small American ELiquid shops making eliquid. And you can make your own eliquid if you want.

I'm not saying "you smoked so shut up". I was simply pointing out if only we had this epiphany earlier in life we might not have been smoking for x number of years.

Of course thats true. People have the right to do whatever they want when they want. No body said any different?
