I have seen several people say they vape with cig-a-likes in public or while driving. Why?

Especially the driving part, I guess they're a little bit easier than the eGo or mods since you have to push a button but....?

I can't imagine it being THAT much harder.

Do you not take your better equipment out in public because you are afraid of setting it down and losing it?

Splain me, please.

I don't use a cig-a-like in public, but I can understand why some might - being a newbie, right now I'm using an 1100 mah Ego-T with a CE4 clearo on it...I do have this slightly irrational fear of being pulled over and having to explain, with my limited vape speak, to a cop what it is and that it's not anything bad/wrong, etc. Despite that, I still do use it in the car - I'm just not comfortable doing so yet. Other than that using my set up in public doesn't bother me, especially at work - I work at a University and still take "smoke breaks" - I would love it if a college kid came and asked me about it....the sooner they might consider getting off analog's, the better it would be for them!!

I drive for a living. These days I am a property investigator, which means I cover about a hundred miles a day over three counties. Over the long hauls I use my big battery, but when I'm getting in and out of my car a dozen times in an hour it's much easier to just chomp down on my super mini and keep moving.

I also use my mini for dipping while sitting at the computer working. Much better flavor and throat hit, and it's more of a "session" experience like smoking a cigarette.

A good mini will surprise you with how well it can perform and taste.

Carrying it around is something that makes total sense that I had not considered. I carry mine around like a pen pretty much constantly but I have been considering a lanyard.

It never occurred to me to worry about the police, I vaped in front of the chief of police and a bunch of other cops just the other day. Of course they all know me, it might be different with cops I don't know, lol.

I use full size mods everywhere. I don't even own any cigalikes or eGo batteries anymore.

I prefer to use gripper-style box mods for out and about. Something tube-shaped like the Provari can be a little long for driving and laying it on the passenger seat can allow it to roll away out of reach during turns. :-x

Using a Knucklehead drip tip can make using any mod easier to use during driving because it eliminates needing to lift the mod horizontal when taking a vape.

I use cig-a-likes if I don't want curious strangers coming up and talking to me. I'm friendly most of the time and like telling the public about vaping, but when I'm out to dinner with my elderly parents or something like that, I don't want to have to brush people off. I always have a bigger set-up in my purse though.

I go everywhere with either my provari running a RBA or my zenesis and I have dealt with dirty looks, random strangers inquiring about it and even have been stopped by local authorities for suspicion of a controlled substance....Think about it...It looks so odd to people out of the vaping circle so they immediately assume its illegal or medicinal in my experience. I have only had a few people say "is that an electronic cigarette?" Strange thing is that every bar I have been to (non-smoking) has never given me any problems or even bothered to ask about it.

Vaping hasn't caught on in my area so I understand the possible "issues" I may face but I will continue carrying my mods because its the best vape I get and has kept me off of cigarettes for quite some time now so its worth it to me.

I can't ever remember caring what my ecig choice looked like out in public or while I was driving, I've always only cared that it functioned the way I needed it to for the situation.

My bottom feeder has gotten a lot of use when I'm driving or even riding in a car at night. There have been times that I've needed a stealth vape inside a no smoking/vaping building so an ego with a carto in my pocket has worked the best. My Buzz Pro has traveled to five different countries with me :) I can't think of an ecig/APV I own that hasnt traveled with me outside the house at one time or another and some of them have traveled a lot :)

I told him it's an e-cig an he looked at me like I had 8 heads...'I seen those around but that dont look like no e-lect-tronic cigARette I've seen before...can I see that' and proceeded to sniff the drip tip lol....seriously he put his beak to the tip and took a whiff lol.

I kind of want a cigalike for when I'm not in the mood to deal with inquiries as mentioned above. And I'd much rather replace a $12 Volt with $1 carto than a $160 provari with RBA on top.

But, that said, I'm not sure it'd deliver the vape I'm after and I'd probably end up carrying the bigger setup anyways. My eGos have gone mostly untouched up until a random interest recently.

Some times I refrain from blasting huge clouds in public, other times I don't. Seems to come & go at random.

Though recently using the Provari + RBA setup outside of a restaurant and the Chief of Police drives by slack-jawed staring at me. Pretty certain he thought I was using you know what but the best part is, he just kept on driving! Hmm. If I see them I normally refrain, I'm not one who wants an interaction with the cops to any degree, but I didn't spot him and certainly wasn't going to try and hide it or anything.

I'm kind of nervous about using it on the highway though. Truckers do call stuff in to the authorities. Again, not going to want to deal with a cop who comes up thinking I'm breaking the law and delaying my travels.

I always have my Provari with a Bella tank on me, don't use my ego too much, just not the vapor I'm looking for. A lot if people give me weird looks or double-take, but whats the worst that can happen? I explain to them what it is, and usually try to keep some spare juice on me to show them what's in it, if it becomes a problem. Usually people don't say to much about it though.

I like the 510 autos with Vivi Nanos for driving. Especially in heavy traffic, when I prefer to keep both hands available for for manuvering, shifting and saluting the idiots :toast:

But I usually also have either my MVP or a Spinner on a lanyard around my neck, for when the traffic isn't as tense.
