Why all the PMs for suppliers and such?

Hi all,

One of the most common questions I have, and have seen on the Thailand forum, are questions relating to "Where can I get...," or "Where is the best place to buy..." I often see responses that say "PM me for details." I understand that there is no advertising, buying, or selling on the forums. However, product/supplier review, feedback, and suggestions seems like some of the most useful information. I was just wondering why/if these suggestions need to be private and not contributed to the metadata of the forum.

Exactly, I assumed it was some sort of ECF policy, but I read the forum rules and such and couldn't find anything that necessitated this. Maybe it has something to do with Thai law?

It's just generally being polite on ECF to supplier members if you are recommending a site who is not an ECF supporter.
