I won't be signing any petitions, I don't believe them to be effective.

Thats alright judging by you banner and Redskins helmet youre used to being on the losing side :p

It has more to do with my belief that this is the equivalent of us chasing our own tail, for what reward? A canned response?

I also don't believe that if our fate is up to the FDA that we are in as bad a situation as many believe. Don't get me wrong, I don't trust the FDA, but in all actuality, our fight only really begins once we know what they plan to do. Right now, this is nothing more than a guy screaming at shadows.

What would we expect the President to do? The regs haven't come down yet. And besides, its congress who has oversight over the FDA, not the president.

Call your congressmen, send them letters, emails, phone calls, that will go way further than the useless diversion of a petition.

Just wondering if you have called your congressmen, sent them letters, emails? Before you ask, I have and even sent an email to the white house.

I have called both Bob Corkers office and Marsha Blackburns office, I've actually spoken with Marsha Blackburn face to face. I can say she is on our side.

And you missed part of the point, part of the problem with petitioning the pres is that congress is the one with oversight, not the president, he could apply pressure on our behalf, or propose something to congress, and even issue an executive order, but ultimately congress has the power to cut off FDA regs.

Add to that the accessibility of your congressman, do you have any clue how many people call the white house on any given day? Believe me, your congressman will notice if he/she gets 15 or 20 calls in one day.

The problem is, even if all the people that switched from smoking to vaping spoke up, it wouldn't matter, we are not the majority. We are the minority and will always be. We will be either taxed to death on it or they will just ban liquid nicotine sales. All our public officials in NY will just blow smoke up our a**** any ways.

People don't realize the power we have. If we spoke up, not only would people who don't vape join in, but we would be loud, and heard, our numbers don't have to be many to make an impact, ask the gay community.

Our problem is, stuff like this, appealing to the POTUS as though he is an Emperor, when he won't give 2 craps about us. Congress will listen.

Signing this petition is the beginning of speaking up. From here we can raise our voices and be heard. You have to start somewhere. So, please, just sign it. If you believe it will help or not. Just sign it because it might help. That's it. Don't take a political stand. Just sign. It may or may not help.

No matter what is decided or when it is decided, there is no way Vapers are going to quit. It will be just like when people still drank alcohol during prohibition days. And yea, I'm sure a lot of Vape groups would get together somewhere to make their point, and I honestly do think people will hear us and see that vaping is a good thing.

I'm not going to tell people not to sign a petition, whatever makes you feel better, I guess. But understand, that's all this is, is to make you feel better.

If you really want to make an impact, then call your congressmen, do it now, get the issue in their mind now, make sure you do what you can to educate them now, get your buddies in your voting district to do the same. Then, in a couple of months, when the time comes, we have the people who can put a hault on the regs in our corner.

Or by all means, petition the guy who has absolutely no legal authority over FDA regs, and completely ignore the people with all the power, that way when the time comes, they rubber stamp our arses back to prefilled cartos, stick batteries, and outrageous taxation, and we'll only have ourselves to blame for not paying attention in school when they taught us about the legislative branch of our government.

I for one refuse to feed into the ignorance of the masses by participating in a useless diversion that pushes our focus off of what could truly make the difference.

Make the calls, get others to do the same, educate them, let them know that you are paying attention.

Negative Nancy. Signing this petition will do nothing negative. It will however, raise awareness. So why not sign it? It only takes a few clicks to do so. Even if you don't think it will help, please sign. I suggest everyone also write to their state reps and congress as well.

I love it, I'm negative for wanting to do something that matters? Have fun with your little petition, I hope the canned response you get is to your liking.

You're not negative for wanting action. You are negative because, on the off chance that the petition helps even a tiny bit. You won't bother signing because you are being negative about the effectiveness of said petition. As I said earlier. People should contact their state reps AND sign the petition.

Who are you making a stand against by not signing. Nobody cares if you don't sign except for other vapers who you are working against right now. Somebody may care if you do sign.

Its not negativity to state the truth, and the truth is, petitioning the president to do something, even though we don't know what the FDA will do, and he has no legal authority over this, is a waste of time.

Look at the amount of effort being put into this, how many threads? Yet, WHAT IS THE PAYOFF? He can't or won't do anything. The regs will be presented to congress.

Meanwhile, there are no threads to get people to contact their congressmen. When if you got 1/10 of the amount of signatures needed for this petition to call their congressmen it would have a much bigger effect.

But hey, its whatever. I've stocked up 4 and a half liters of nic, I'm good.
