First of all I can somel times get a good coil in my phoenix.

I have never built a good coil in my 2 post I-go. I've tried several different brands of cotton balls (sterile), some of which work in my phoenix. Anyways every single coil I build in my igo has a really hard throat hit and almost no vapor.

I've tried wrapping the coil around the cotton with a thin paperclip as a backing and I've tried making coils around drill bits then pulling the cotton through. I thought it might be the air hole is too small so I drilled that out to 1/16" and it didn't change a thing. I'm using 32gauge kanthal 3-5 wraps.

advice?

wrap the coil on a drill bit then feed the cotton threw after you have it mounted in the posts. never had luck wrapping around teh cotton honestly dont see why people do this. build the coil, wick it and you can use the same coil for awhile and just dry burn the coil and change cotton every so often.

ah, ok was in a rush.

32 ga is most likely the issue. way to thin and no surface area.

look up micro coils. for drippers i personally will not use thinner then 28ga and right now 24ga is the best i have tried.

take your 32ga and take 3 strands and twiste them together with a drill bit, you can find many videos showing how to do this. This should get you close to 28ga and will help alot more. think 6 wraps on a 5/64 will give you a .7ohm build if I remember correctly. you wont be blasting major clouds but, it will be much improved in all fields.

What mod are you using? VV or mech? if your using a mech I find around .6 to be good for single coils with 24-28ga, obviously the 24ga will hit much harder

if using a VV mod just twiste two peices of 32ga and build a coild that will fire 1.5 should work with most and just max the volts/watts out. more info on your gear will help alot with this

think I used a 3mm airhole when I used 28ga singles

I'm using a provari 2.5 I think it is good down to 1ohm. What do you mean twist 2 pieced of 32gauge? Like twist them together and make the coil with the 2 pieces? Wouldn't that be the same as using a single strand of a larger wire?

Yes it is i have a bunch of 28 and 30 gauge i couldnt really use until i figured out about twisting it together it reduces the resistance and increases the surface area and makes it easier to work with in my opinion. Your turning multiple strands into one strand by twisting its very easy to do. I didnt have a drill to use and had to improvise but was about to get it. Theres some videos on YouTube about doing it.

You can't just wrap a coil of any amount and expect it to work.
Fortunately with a regulated mod, if you wrap something in the right ballpark, you can adjust the mod to suit.

Use the steam engine coil wrap calculator:
Coil wrapping | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators
Plug your numbers into the calculator
With 32 gauge kanthal a1, 4.6 wraps you get 1.8 ohm which will work at 5 watts.

You are likely getting hot spots in your coil that are burning the juice in a small area and doing nothing over the rest of the coil.

Search youtube for coil making videos. I second twisting two pieces of 32awg together, search youtube for "twisted coil".

30 or 28awg wrapped 7 or 8 times on a 2mm mandrel works very well, the 30awg will heat quicker for mouth to lung hitting.

Watch youtube, keep reading the forums, and play with the steam calculator and you will be wrapping excellent coils in no time.

yes twisting two pieces together will make the resistance close to 30ga kanthal, or you can just buy 30ga if you dont feel like twisting it up. I would try 7 wraps on a 5/64 drill bit micro coil style, should be close to 1-1.4ohm and will hit nice.
