Why Did you buy an e-cig?

Why did you buy your first e-cig?

  • Wanted to use it to quit smoking.

  • Wanted a healthier way to smoke.

  • Wanted to smoke where smoking is banned.

  • Like e-smoking better than anolog smoking.

  • Just thought it was cool.

  • Other, please explain.

Checked "other" as I had actually quit smoking for a week or so and in the past I started smoking again when I went out drinking. (I'd given up twice before.)

I bought the e-cig for something to smoke only when I was out drinking but got pretty much hooked on the e-cig from the moment I took it out of the box.

Oh well at least it's better for me than real smoking and I don't smoke analogs when drinking any more!

I wanted to tick nearly all the boxes but it wouldn't let me!

As a result I've ticked 'Healthier' as 30+ years of 30+ analogues a day was taking it's toll; the coughing was getting unbearable. Side benefits of being able to enjoy going to pubs, cinemas, restaurants etc AND indulge my addiction without upsetting or harming anyone else, not smelling like an ashtray, giving my tastebuds a new lease of life etc - just make it a 'no-brainer'!

And at the risk of sounding critical (but please don't take it that way - not intended to be) the 'Wanted to quit smoking' option is a bit misleading! Yes, I desperately wanted to stop smoking TOBACCO but DIDN'T want to give up my nicotine - so vaping is "The Answer" for me. :thumb:

I have had pneumonia for 4 months. Keeps getting worse. DR told me I HAD to quit smoking and I found out about e-cigs and I went on a search. I bought a cheap-o on ebay and it was crap so I kept searching and found this forum and now have a Janty yentl kissbox on it's way.

The only problem I have is staying away from my laptop....I keep looking at all the juice sites. Cash, Jane's, JC....I am addicted and I haven't even started yet.8-o

When I first saw the e-cig in the mall I was curious. I had never seen an e-cig before. After much research and a great deal of info from this forum I decided to purchase one. I was hoping it would help me stop real cigs but was very sceptical. To my surprise it was much easier then I thought with the help of the e-cig.

I initially purchased mine because I was tired of not being able to sit at a bar and smoke. Once I learned more about it I plan to stick with it because of that as well as the fact that it's a healthier choice. Having just two weeks ago buried my mother due to lung cancer that's a pretty strong motivator to go with the healthier option.

Well I think we all agree on health and smelling better. I was a closet smoker (still am). I'm a health nut in every way except for my secret smoking. I had been smoking eclipse cigarettes for the last 4 years but they are not making them any more. I like the fact I can smoke in the house. I haven't taken the ecigg out in public. I guess I could take it to a bar and use it as a conversation piece. I have the screw driver and it could be mistaken for a crack pipe. LOL

I'm greatful for the forums and wished I knew what I know now about the quality products vs the cheapos. I think vapping can be cheaper than analogs in the long run. You just have to find someone that is a reliable trustworthy dealer. Stock up on the batteries, atomizers, cores and juice. I have wasted so much $$$$$$$ trying to fiqure out what I like and what works. Now tht I have that down to a science it is vapping from here on out.

Everyone has different 'push' buttons, I think. 20 years ago I saw my grandfather die of emphysema, yet it didn't slow down my smoking one bit.

2.5 years ago, my daughter had her first baby. I refused to let him _ever_ see me smoke, so I became a semi-closet smoker. Quickly enjoyed the better smelling house/clothing/everything. 2 weeks ago, my daughter had her 2nd son. Hum - it's hard to play with 2 baby boys and have a chance to sneak a smoke outside. SO - the e-cig was the near perfect answer.

I can sneak a 'vape' in the bathroom for 2 minutes. Or a closet. Or behind the kitchen door. You get the idea. And now I don't give away by smelling like smoke.

Non-smokers often don't understand why those awful medical photos don't make us want to immediately never smoke again. I don't understand either, but we all probably do have a trigger. Ya just have to find it......

And yes, those little grandbabies of mine are smart. They'll catch on to my sneaks pretty soon. Maybe I'll be totally off nic by then.........
