Everyone has different 'push' buttons, I think. 20 years ago I saw my grandfather die of emphysema, yet it didn't slow down my smoking one bit.
2.5 years ago, my daughter had her first baby. I refused to let him _ever_ see me smoke, so I became a semi-closet smoker. Quickly enjoyed the better smelling house/clothing/everything. 2 weeks ago, my daughter had her 2nd son. Hum - it's hard to play with 2 baby boys and have a chance to sneak a smoke outside. SO - the e-cig was the near perfect answer.
I can sneak a 'vape' in the bathroom for 2 minutes. Or a closet. Or behind the kitchen door. You get the idea. And now I don't give away by smelling like smoke.
Non-smokers often don't understand why those awful medical photos don't make us want to immediately never smoke again. I don't understand either, but we all probably do have a trigger. Ya just have to find it......
And yes, those little grandbabies of mine are smart. They'll catch on to my sneaks pretty soon. Maybe I'll be totally off nic by then.........
