It's a legitimate question.
Maybe you joined, looking for advice. Maybe you weren't sure vaping was for you. Maybe you didn't know where to start.
For one reason or another, something brought you here and you ended up joining.
Now I know that there are a lot of lurkers here that just read the threads and there's nothing wrong with that.
But, my question to you is...Why did you join this forum? Or, to put it another way, what made you join this forum?
Because you're a vaper, and regardless of what equipment you use, you are part of a community. A family.
There is no judgement here.
Only a collection of people from all over the world that all share 1 thing in common; A deep passion of the hobby/lifestyle and the willingness to help others learn.
Let's discuss and vape On!

I was content to lurk and not join ECF when I started vaping. I was performing a bunch of Google searches and I always seemed to end up at ECF. It wasn't until I had a question for a specific member who talked a lot about the type of batteries that I used that I decided to become a member so I could PM him. I had to make a minimum number of posts and after a couple of weeks of contributing I got hooked.

I joined in February, just about a month after starting vaping. I actually forget what brought me here but I bookmarked the site and began contributing just a few days ago and I was instantly hooked.
I'm a blogger and a writer anyhow. So this is just natural to me.
So, if I post a lot, I apologize, but not really, hahahaha.

I remember well when I joined. As Firestorm said, I also lurked on Google when I had a vapeing question, always landed on ECF. These people have the answers! A couple of years ago I had a problem with my Kayfun, I couldn't find the solution lurking, so I joined and asked in the new members forum. A kind moderator, I'm sorry I don't remember who? Helped the then newbie by guiding me through and bumping me into the correct forum. In minutes they had me up and running! After that I got involved. Best decision I made since quitting smoking :thumb:

I had bought a V2 Pro Series 3. They have a forum on their website. By the time I got there, it was sort of on its last legs. It used to be busy, but the majority of the posters who made it interesting had moved on (voluntarily, not banned). Instead of discussion of vaping or even general chit-chat, the overwhelming majority of posts were about the appalling customer service and faulty products, over and over and over. I stopped going there.

I wanted to know more about vaping, and read about peoples' experiences with quitting smoking. I found this forum, that had hundreds of active members with more coming every day, rather than a dozen or so who talked to each other about the same stuff all the time.

I'm comfortable on message boards; I'm an administrator on one. Here, I mainly lurk, read and learn.

I joined here because someone a long time ago had a question about the SmokTech Magneto and I was using that and the hybrid atty that was made for it and wanted to give my two cents to that individual. Now I am here to talk and to aquire more gear and accessories that my wife would say I don't need.

Lurked, didn't take long to want to join.

When I did, I was really overwhelmed with all the choices!

Soooo happy I did, everyone here was very quick to answer any question or point me in the right direction. It has made my vape experience very satisfying to say the least!!

Now if I can stop looking at all the cool new devices and attys, I'd be good to go!! As it stands now, I have a beer budget and champagne desires!!

I joined, after having lurked for a week or so, to ask a silly newbie question. I, too, found ECF from internet searches trying to find out more about e-cigs. I had just got my Kanger EVOD kit, and was having problems my first day (duh, SOAK THE WICK! LOL!) and so many people very kindly helped me and encouraged me that I was impressed beyond measure. I've been on a lot of forums, and NONE of them, even the small ones, have so many kind and helpful people. Never any judgement or blatant sarcasm (except the funny stuff and that's OK), and for a forum of this population, that's unheard of. So I'm here to stay.

I'm still trying to find my sea-legs, this place is so BIG! There are nooks and crannies I haven't even discovered yet, much less had time to explore, but I think that any information that I might ever need to know about vaporizers, juice, and anything regarding e-cigs is here somewhere! LOL! I'm just studying my tiny little brain out now, trying to learn as much as I can, so that I can continue to make this a satisfying experience for me.

And all the "congrats" on quitting smoking are nice, too! I haven't gotten that even from friends in real life. I guess because they don't smoke and never did, so they don't understand exactly what a person goes through. I was a hard-core, never-gonna-quit, I'll be smoking on my deathbed kind of girl, and (once I soaked my wicks!) I put my cigarettes away the minute I started vaping. I AM SO HAPPY! Happy to be free of the tobacco, and happy to be a part of this community. I'm still just blown away by the whole experience. I hope it never "gets old" with me.

THANK YOU, EVERYONE!

I joined because I started vaping the day before, using a Halo starter kit that I'd ordered after too little research a few days prior. I didn't expect much from it, but after vaping for less than 24 hours, I was already in awe at how much less I was smoking, and I was interested in learning more about this thing that seemed darn close to a miracle. Ya'll have been stuck with me ever since. :D
