Why do dual 18650 mods keep advertising as 200 watt devices?

In the interest of fairness I just spent about 2 hours looking over MOOCHs tests and data.I was ready to say I was wrong if I was wrong and here he has tested most name brand batts at 30amps down to v well below vaping and they performed fine.there is one shootout where he pulsed them at 40 and 50 amps .If a battery can be pulsed at 50amps down to below 3v with no issues then I believe pulsing it at 32 is fine.
every time I get into a battery discussion I get "read moochs threads, read moochs threads" well some of you need to take your own advice the data clearly shows 30amp pulses and not causing much venting and if all these 200 watt devices are so dangerous why are we not seeing stories of batts venting solely because they were taxed because if it was happeneing we would see it here

Call it most of us that stress safety and staying within safe sustained continuous discharge ratings, it is a blanket reply. Not necessarily focused at you personally, we see potentially dangerous information being written that your average to new vapers read. These newer vapers do not need to be seeing that dangerous type of information to practice it until they grasp the variables it references with a good understanding, otherwise they get themselves in to far over their heads and a possible trip to the hospital to boot. Like to run at pulse rating, fine, do it all you like, keep the pulse rating talk to the more advanced section on batteries, in the new members and general discussion threads keep it is low key as possible or not please, just my opinion, we don't need any more mod explosions in the news, just one is to many, and in the past week we've had 2, with way to many in the past several months.

/last I am replying on this thread.

So with regulated mods is it really that unsafe to pulse a 20A battery at around 24 - 31amps? Assuming the board regulates what it should wouldn't the mod just stop firing? And even if assuming the board fails wouldn't you experience gas/liquid venting through the 2ndary safety feature ie: vent holes instead of an actual explosion?

Assume your 20 amp battery isn't 20 amps. Most aren't.

Assume the board will fail. It eventually will. All electronics do.

Assume there's no vent holes. They can get clogged, missed in mfr'ing or anything in between... or just become a focus point for 2500 degree F flames unsuspectingly.

Let's not live in imagination.

Yes... especially given the way your post was written.

I don't have a problem with pulsing batteries above their CDR.

I don't have a problem using them a fraction above their CDR for vaping. (Others will disagree)

But when you start putting dependencies on safety features that do fail to do so, you create a false sense of security. You INCREASE the risk instead of decreasing it.

Samsung 25R confirmed legit... sure... run it at 22 to 25 amps if you want... but know what you're doing and test for heating up uncomfortably.

New "VapeGreat" battery fresh on the market or the only thing you B&M carries with 20A printed on the label?
Keep THAT THING UNDER 15 amps until it's a known quantity with known characteristics. Testing done by a knowledgeable, trustworthy 3rd party, NOT the company selling them be it wholesale, direct to mfr'ing or retail.

I don't give a snot about data sheets and company test results. Some, if not most will be skewed, if not downright lies.

Hence why @Mooch has a career.

Sure, I only use batteries with the word "fire" in them and my only source for vape gear is my local B&M.

you seem to be the type of member on this forum that I wouldn't mind utilizing the ignore function to prevent discussions from escalating into something else, so GL and keep on vaping.

You're putting words in my mouth to start an argument and place judgement.

I'm not going to assume which batteries you have or whether they're authentic to appease you. I'd rather give good information than assume. It's better for everybody.

That's uncalled for.

I hope all goes well for you despite not wanting to know the truth.

Good luck.

And remember... you were the one coming here with questions. ;)
