vaping is not the same as smoking, I've been vaping since Sept 6, did not have an analog until 4 weeks later, at that point the analog tasted nasty, I barely inhaled it- now I have an analog maybe every 2 weeks, still tasts nasty and I inhale lightly blowing most out before I inhale- but I know I can have one occasionally and not go back every day- the e-cig for me replaced the analogs-i used 18 mg at first , but I was down to ultr light american spirit-I now use 11 or 8 mg, to keep my nic level- now I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to not chain vape , when I'm sitting==good luck

just smoke, that is the beauty of the whole thing.

ecigs don't have all the crap in them that tobacco does so you don't get that and that is what makes you want to smoke so just do it until those cravings go away.

i used the ecig to go longer and longer between smoking until i didn't care about tobacco anymore.

in the beginning i replaced one or two cigs a day.
then later it was 5 or 6 a day.
then later it was 20 a day.
then later it was 40 a day.

but even after i quit completely i smoked every once in awhile just to see what was up and i found smoke was nasty compared to my ecig.

the beauty of doing it that way as opposed to quitting is that every other time i quit i pined away for cigs and as soon as i tried one i was right back at it.

now when i feel nostalgic for smoking and try it it feels gross and i know i would never go back.
so what i say is never quit smoking.

fire one up every once in awhile to see how gross it is.

Hang in the Heather! I'm a new vapor since December 9th, 2011. An analog smoker for 43 years a perfect LOVE/HATE RELATIONSHIP!!! Would and could NOT have put my cigs down without my e-cig!! Thank GOD for them and this ECF forum with all the massive info & concered community for us newbbies. However, my new vaping experiance began with the usual trial by vaping.....I had to learn how to vape! It took about 2 weeks for me to realize you have to take a slow steady draw(no hot boxing, will only discourage you) from your e-cig and understand you'll never get that nasty taste from those posinous analogs(THERE'S 1000'S OF POISONS WE INHALED IN THOSE ANALOGS, after 43 years you'd thought I'd known that)but, the mfg'rs really want to keep us ignorant of some facts & of course I think we disn't want to know. I DO hold myself accountable for not investigating. Vaping is a learning experiance and has now become my hobby! I can tell you all day long about my wonderful experiance with my ego-t, however, the best advice I can share is make sure you have a LR(low resitance)atty or cartimizer so you can get a stronger vape, harder throat hit that we newbbies have to have for satifaction. After 2 weeks of learning I ordered a LR atty and NOW!! I'm satisfied as I've NEVER BEEN! vaping all day long. The possibilities are ENDLESS & EXCITING!!! When I first started I had 2 packs of analogs left in my carton and counted down my last 60 with alternating vaping, then on my last analog I had a funeral for it,LOL! THAT WAS CLOSURE ON MY 43 YEAR HABIT! Again, hang in there Heather your not alone...It WILL be worth it!!!!!! No more coughing your toenails up!, new smellls!(some better than others!,lol)and becoming anxious to meet fellow vapors as I am. VAPEOUT & ON! VV in N.C. :vapor:

Hey Heather congratulations on switching to e-cigs... Every smoke that you avoid is a win win. Don't push yourself take it slowly. The thing that helped me through the transition when I would crave a cig I would take a couple of hits on my Riva and ask myself do you really want a cigarette. The answer was always no.The end of next month will be my year I have not had a cigarette and feel so much better had been smoking for 30 years tried everything this worked for me I am sure it will work for you. Don't pressure yourself and visit this forum every day as I lived on this forum for the first 5 months. Congratulations again and keep up the good work.. :)

Quitting cigarettes cold turkey can turn into a psychological experience. Your body is suddenly missing addictive chemicals other than nicotine, such as Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors, which are responsible for the calming effect in tobacco. The link in my previous posts explains this.

I agree that weaning from tobacco is a valid process. You don't go through the sudden withdrawal symptoms when you gradually replace tobacco with vaping.
