Why do i want a expensive apv?

If what you are using is working for you, why do you want to go to something else? If you have money to burn, then you should experience all that is out there like some people. I asked myself the same question a lot of vapors ask at about the 6 month point in this journey, is when do I start to actually save some money in this decision? Then it hit me that I didn't need to have the latest greatest thing out there, (and most of what I bought didn't even work as good as what I had already)!!! The real question you should be asking is, is there anyone out there that vape's the same juice and atty combo as you use on these expensive mods, and what is their experience with them.....

I can't even begin to think of the number of posts i've read from people that wasted their time, energy, and money jumping on the big $ mods only to find out that it was a big waste of time, energy, and money.... Take a look at the classifieds section sometime and look at all the Provari's, REO's, and other higher $ mods that are for sale every day and then ask yourself the same question!!!! Most people buy one of these with the intention that, "If I find that I don't like it, I can always sell it in the classifieds"..... What makes it even worst is there is some IDIOT out there that is willing to pay some over-inflated price for said used item, when in most cases can go directly to the vendor and pay $10-20.00 more for a BRAND NEW unit!!!!!

I have found that on most days, (99.9% of them), what I am vaping is really working for me, to keep me off analogs.... Please keep in mind that whatever works for someone else, might not work for you.... That is one of the most expensive concepts that a lot of vapers have realized personally.... I love forums.... These are just some of my opinions and mine alone for the moment....

GAS ** is a term that originated in the guitar and musician vocabulary, but extends to many hobbies/vocations. Just because there is more out there, you don't necessarily have to have it. Vaping is a unique thing, because very few other hobbies can help your health, and improve your quality of life.

If you smoked much at all, you can truly save significant amounts of money, but if you buy the latest vaping thing every month, it will take some time. Some people get into the collecting aspect. It's easy to see dozens of mods listed in a sig.

There are differing devices that really are better suited to differing activities. There are different performance characteristics that suit different people's lives better. There are different form factors, that fit different hands better. Charging and/or carrying spare batteries can have a lot of variations.

The best mod, is the one that lets you NotSmoke anymore! Congratulations, you got past the hard part! It sound like you have capable devices, beyond the basic starter kit. Yet, there could easily be things you like better. Do your tubes roll away in your vehicle or on your table? Perhaps a box mod could open a new look into the hobby. A Kick could fit inside your Bolt, and inexpensively give you a taste of variable wattage, the next step up from VV.

Your title says "expensive APV", if you just look at how much the most expensive ones are, you probably don't want one. After seven months, you have probably saved some $$$, perhaps look at some more inexpensive ones for spares. Leave one at work all the time, so if you have a death in the PV family, it won't be so hard. Some people find one that works well for them driving, and leave it in a vehicle.

I've been considering a true passthrough with no battery (and corresponding high-current charger/USB plug), to just leave in my vehicle.

I think APVs are the least important link in the chain. There's room for improvement, but not much room. It's like the Wheel. There's only so many ways you can design a wheel. I would rather experiment with juices and delivery methods. So many more ideas flourishing, and so much failure.. no one has perfected the basic concept like they have with batteries.... but experimenting gets expensive.

I don't consider myself this way, honestly. I want to simplify life as much as possible. Sometimes that requires spending money, but rarely does it involve superfluousness.

I ran through a few starter kits before biting the bullet and getting a ProVari. As others have stated, it is really worth every penny. Between the extended battery life and the variable voltage options, its awesome. Haven't looked back since the day it came in the mail.

For me, it comes down to spending money where you spend your time. If you're vaping all day every day, I say take the plunge into a nice VV. You definitely won't regret it!

Yeah...I want all the shiny pretty things, what I need is just a decent VVPV that works for me.

I started on a e-power 14650 and I'm glad, it got me off cigs. It's also a good backup device. Still use it.

But, it just couldn't cope with my habits; I like dripping and I like changing juices all the time, I like changing delivery methods too. I'm poor so I went for what for me, was a good fit of cost VS function VS style.

I got a Ovale V8 VVPV kit for $50.

I'll still probably get other mods down the road, but my point is, I don't regret getting these two PV's and I learned a lot already about how *I* like to vape by using them. Which means, without spending the big buck$, I'm more educated on where I should spend the money. Does that make sense?

Thanks for all the input. Still undecided. I love vaping and i am not quitting anytime soon. Got on the zenesis waiting list. Maybe by the time i come up on it thats what i will go with. Until then i am going to buy a phoenix rebuildable and try to get good at that. Sorry about the caps not yelling just lazy.

my buddy Estarra (RockinRobbieSF here on ECF) got a new Zenesis Z-Atty Pro after a six month wait and like 150 bucks IIRC and he hated it. You might want to watch this video before you even consider getting in line for one.

He has a lot of great other reviews for tanks and juices, and how to rebuild various commercial clearomizers as well. He has one of the best channels on YouTube, in my opinion, so that's why I decided to write him a theme song for his vids.

The crazy part for me to understand is why have 6v capability when you need a 4.5ohm+ atomizer to even use it at that level? They tend to lock the thing in at 4 to 4.5v which is ego twist territory at a 10th the price and a quarter of the size lol. I think Provaris are silly too.

Because they can... I don't even understand why people care... Do people who own nice cars drive over 200mph? Do $30,000 watch tells time more accurately than a quartz?

But people love the touch of leather, the smell, they run their fingers over what they consider a work of art and admire the details that went into creating it and smile contently.

Having 5 Twists and 2 Provari, I think I am in a position to say for myself that I just love to hold the provari and when I get my hands on something like a GG, I will be smiling quite contently also.

Each have their uses, pick whatever that works for you base on your usage/cost concern...
