It's tough... I think the gear head in me always wants to look for that upgrade down the line.

I myself have been climbing the ladder to the better thing, it's hard to read about these precision, high efficient, super adjustable wonder PVs.

I just got a lavatube and while I know it's limitations it's working well for me and I am quite content....... For now lol.

Good luck, if what's working for you keeps you satisfied just block that other stuff out of your head.... Find the reason why that more expensive PV is going to give you something you don't have.

Somewhere
I say... "If you are Happy with the Hardware you are using, what is wrong with that?"

And the answers is.... Wait for it.... Absolutely Nothing.

But I will throw this in. If you have not tried a Variable Voltage device that you should indeed consider doing so.

You don't need to take out a second mortgage and buy one. My first VVPV was a $20 Madvapes Box Mod.

It was kinda crude with No Display and a Funky Wheel to set the Voltage. But it was enough to show me that a VVPV gave a Vastly Better hit than a Fixed Voltage device.
If you re-read his original post, you will see that he has 2 eGo-C Twist VV batteries ;).

lol...that's correct

Yeah, I saw that awhile after I posted it.

I was going to remove the bit about "If you don't have a VVPV... Bla Bla Bla... you should try one." but I thought it is good advise to anyone who doesn't so I didn'nt.

Maybe it doesn't apply to the OP but maybe someone else will think it is something to check out.

i have been vaping for about 7 months. I love it. I have finally figured out what i like. Joe castros papa smurf and mistereliquids apple pie. Aero attys from avid vaper. I have a couple ego c twists and a bolt. Why do i feel this undying need to buy a provari, darwin, or a zenesis. I dont need it. I could buy enough supplies for 5 months for the cost. I appreciate any thoughts.

It's called mod hoarding and it's incurable!!!!

The crazy part for me to understand is why have 6v capability when you need a 4.5ohm+ atomizer to even use it at that level? They tend to lock the thing in at 4 to 4.5v which is ego twist territory at a 10th the price and a quarter of the size lol. I think Provaris are silly too.

Because? People do crazy things. Even at 3 VDC.

After posting this and reading all the comments the other thing to think about is the path. Started with a blu, then bought a 650 ego kit, then a bolt, now ego c twist. Isnt the next step a provari? I mean otherwise my slow .... is going to go broke before I get there. hahaha Just like the other path carto, carto tanks, dripping, clearotanks, dripping, tanks, dripping, dripping, dripping. Just want to find a device I can stick with also. thanks everyone

Yeah, for me, The Provari was the Last "Needed" step.

Oh yeah…and every few days, I consider ordering a rev3 for those few times when I feel like my Twist won't go hot enough. Usually that means that the battery is starting to die and it needs to hit the charger……sometimes, it just means I've eaten something spicy or for whatever other reason just want to feel more heat. Considering the twist + the vivi nova head I use goes up to around 11 W, it's usually the battery thing, but still. It's like $75 for the way I'd order it, and would give me a decent charger for when/if I get into mods.

………hmm………to many toys.

Wait?! What am I saying?

Other than the fact that I got a second one, in case anything should happen to the first one, yeah, Provari was the end of the line for me also. I think it is for alot of people, unless you're a 'box mod' type person.
:D

I went from Blu, to 650 and 900 mAh eGos to Provari.

lol. I don't know how to take that, but I assume it's a complement... considering I can make about 10 vv box mods with 3 amp or better regulators for the same price. And they fit in my shirt pocket like a pack of cigs did. The 3ml juice bottle is smaller than the lighter I used to carry. I know I could buy an evercool type mod for less than 1/2 that price.

There's another thread around about recommending a Provari as a 1st ecig.. and just skip the rest. IDK. I have nothing against the provari. In fact, I'd recommend them to many people. I think it's a quality product and a generally good design.

But to answer some of the OP's question... about a year or so ago... I gave the "custom mod market" an estimated 3 more years of life before some new-fangled battery tech comes out with 10x the capacity in the same space. Then all the bulky mods go on the collector's shelf.

You could have a super-mini sized e-cig with 2800 mAh. Or a vv super-mini with at least 1000 mAh. OK, so maybe you'd skip the ohms readout and bulky LED display. But hey...frills.

So I look at it as... inexpensive and easy to replace beats "built like a truck but with a 3 year life expectancy", not due to construction but rather due to obsolesce.

That is Crazy.

BTW - Check out the Cutter Lines left by the Endmill in the Injection Mold. Wonder if they are on Purpose or if the Die Maker just got tired of Benching the Die?

If you look at the Evolv logo you will notice how the elliptical shapes all overlap each other... That was the effect they were going for except it would be impossible to machine elliptical shapes in a space that narrow so they just went with the circles in the die...
