Why do most chocolate flavors have a chemical flavor or taste?

I'm getting tired of wasting money on trying to find a chocolate flavor juice which tastes like chocolate. I'm not talking about cocoa flavor, I'm talking about chocolate candy bar flavor. I'd even settle for a chocolate coffee flavor like those Coffee Nips candies, wow those were good.
Each and every flavor I've tried by different suppliers, that contains the words 'chocolate' in it, have all the same type of chemical or perfum taste, it's terrible.
What's in the chocolate flavoring that does that?

I am a chocoholic and have been looking for a really good chocolate flavor since I started vaping. My favorites so far are Chocolate Rain from Happy Smokes, Double Chocolate from Tasty Vapor and Double Dutch Chocolate from Vapor Renu. They all have a good chocolate flavor to me. Of course, that's my personal taste. It could be different for you.

I second the Vapor Renu Double Dutch Chocolate. I ordered a 30ml bottle of the flavoring a month ago and just ordered another.

I've come to the conclusion that I simply don't like e-liquid with any type of chocolate flavoring. :(

They all taste like the hard candy part of a chocolate Tootsie Pop....you know...the brown ones that end up in the garbage. :glare: Ick.

LOL,,,I love the chocolate Tootsie Pops

I know I didn't start the thread, but thanks for the recommendations. Saves me time from posting a new thread. Growing up a fatty definitely lends oneself to having certain standard for chocolate lol. So I definitely have to try these because I and my inner fatty have not been impressed with what I currently have :p

Yes, It does taste exactly like Tootsie Roll chocolate! I just ordered a 30ml bottle of Chocolate from Gourmet Vapor with the regular level of flavoring for 16.17 (inc. shipping). I used their 40% discount code (gv40). You can double or triple the amount of flavoring from these folks). I'll let you know what happens.

That's not what I said, I said that I love the Tootsie Pops. However, the Double Dutch Chocolate from VR taste more like a brownie to me.

I also feel the same way about chocolate. I have tried TONS of chocolate juices and several flavorings. The ONE that I found that I love is Viking vapor - Chocolate Mint. Their Toffee Mint is also wonderful. I received these a long time ago and only recently tried them. I didn't reorder yet because when I looked at their site, the bottles and names were different. I am afraid they changed everything.

All of the chocolate flavors I have tried taste "weak and powdery" yeah I know thats not very descriptive but I guess you could say they taste more like unsweetened cocoa powder than chocolate to me. They do taste better with coffee, either drinking coffee while vaping or in a coffee/chocolate mix. I've found that adding a menthol flavor seems to help some but I haven't found anything that tastes like a Junior Mint (yet).

Oldsoldier; right on! If I do remotely like any chocolate flavor out there it is more a cocoa flavor than chocolate, which is a powdery taste; just like unsweetened cocoa powder. Very few suppliers actually call some of their flavors 'cocoa...' and the flavor is just that.
Frankly Chocolate Truffle from JC is one of the very few chocolate flavors I do like. JC flavors are great for those looking for tobacco flavors; more like pipe tobacco or great flavored cigar flavors.

I've wasted more than $200 in a good chocolate search (and decent coffee taste)...I have yet to turn up anything and have actually stopped trying. I get my sweet tooth satisfied with a honey mixture that I do myself. I am actively watching this thread to see if anything pops up that I haven't tried yet. I am very "chocolate" picky and would love a good dark chocolate/french mint vape that isn't tart, nor has a candy taste.

Another chocoholic right here...

Chocolate is a tough flavor to master because, by it's nature, it's complex. I was on the same quest and finally gave up and started mixing my own. Of the premixed, Chocolate Rain, Chocolate Truffle, and Chocolate from Viking Vapor were the top flavors for me; but none were "it". I mix a new brew every few days and am always searching for the recipe that's just a bit better than the last one.

Edit to add: if you don't mix your own, Gourmet Vapor has some great chocolate options in their "create a flavor"

Parallex, which chocolate flavorings have you found to be decent to diy? I have PA (that I haven't tried yet) and they don't smell the way I wanted them to but may vape differently.

Flavourart is the top for chocolate flavor, then PA.... I like Lorann's, but some aren't impressed with it. But, I like sweet candy bar milk chocolate flavor so by the time I add all the extras, it's not just chocolate flavor anymore. But, to build a great chocolate ejuice I'd choose Flavourart every time.

Thin Mint Cookie from fsusa is really good. IMO.
