Please ladies and gents this isn't the place to go bashing provape for what they do or don't do or what they charge or their service - This thread is going way off topic extremely quickly and although i'm sure you all have valid reasons for the way that you feel this really isn't the place for it to be done . So for the sake of the thread please keep on topic as much as possible otherwise i can see a thread that started with a valid point getting closed and locked

I just got my provari the other day. I showed it to my boss and he asked," How much did you pay for THAT?"

"180 bucks"

"Oh my god," he laughed and jokingly added," Im paying you too much "

" That's less than I was spending on cigarettes every month." I said

He actually did a double take," Really?"

I said yes,

"Totally worth it then." he said

And he's right. Totally worth it.

Agreeable. I apologize. Lets get back on topic.

I think its been covered pretty well. I don't think they should be compared in the slightest, as its like if I was going car shopping. I wouldn't compare a Honda Civic to a BMW 3 series, but its going to happen. People can't help seeing the similarities and comparing them. They think the units are so much the same, that they can't believe the price range is different. And thats were comparisons come in.

That's very true Creniker - for myself though i don't know much about how the provari is constructed but if it were just me making a mod that i believed in and i spent a lot of time and effort on each one ensuring the customer got exactly what they wanted then maybe that justifies the price whereas with the LT it's mass produced with let's face it limited at best QC to be used abused and probably tossed away once it's done with little care. I bought mine as a try out to VV vaping didn't really care if it didn't give me a true 6.0v (although that point is valid as that's what was claimed) - but i also couldn't agree more the LT is not a cheap provari it is indeed a lavatube a mod in it's own rite and that's how i take it :)

And thats half of it. Its more then just the cost of the parts. For some people its a labor of love, and they work hard to make sure a units going to work properly. And for me thats 100% the kind of unit I want to own.

Agreed and that's what makes the provari the provari and the lavatube a conventional mass produced vv ecig mod called the lavatube - for some it's a mod they take out instead of a provari cos well they can drop it and get it beat up and if it fails get a new one cheaply . Each Mod has it's respective place and they both have pros and cons to their makeup and possible development. Which again for me just divides the two even further :)

I think a little controlled heated debate is great when it comes to any of these devices. As for me I just wanted to get the best value for my dollar like I believe most of us do. I personally don't have the cash to invest in all the great mods out there or I would have at least one of each so instead in this instance I run the numbers as both claim VV, both are tube mods, and both claim the same voltage vaping potential....3.x-6.0 and thus is where the boxing gloves/comparison resides. I can't see saying they are not similiar based on those assertions. The decision to buy then comes down to what one values as a consumer . Perhaps it costs more so it must be better, they both have parts from China but this one is at least assembled in USA, grandpa says this one is better...etc...personal values as a consumer are endless but that's the idea. As for me I'm pretty much done with this thread only because the topic has been beat to death and anything more of value on the topic already resides within.

The purpose of my post was not to bash Provape although it may seem like it to some. I simply attempted to answer the question "Why do people keep comparing LT to Provari? " as I see it. I think I gave some good reasons why people continue to insist on comparing the two. As stated I hesitated in making the post for so long because I knew it would not be well received.

I wasn't trying to convince anyone to buy one over the other. I never denied anyone the right to choose and spend how ever much money they wished. I don't think it's fair that the Provari has what I believe to be unjustified pricing but people are certainly free to choose that mod.

I think both companies can greatly improve their products. I think both companies Should to better serve the community.

Your rant was not unjustified. IMHO most all mods are grossly over priced. Being in the business you are in John you understand the cost and the work that is involved in producing even the simplest tube mod. What maybe 10 bucks in materials and at most half an hour to produce. Yet we are willing to pay $80-100 for a basic mechanical mod. Honestly the only mods that are worth what we pay for them are the hand crafted and custom built jobs.

I think there are different classes of VV mods, & the only reason the LT is compared to the Provari is because it (kind of) resembles a Provari. If the LT looked like a Buzz Pro, the comparisons would be going in that direction.

I keep reading about the great price making it a huge value over the Provari, but there have been vendors on ECF offering VV devices at a similar price point to the LT for the last 6 months.

In regards to the pricing of the Provari, I think another member's comment is merely stirring the pot. If there was someone who saw such a huge market not being served, & the only companies serving it, grossly overcharging for their products, we would be seeing a glut of other American companies jumping in to profit.

I see people on the ECF making these cost analysis based on what they do for a living. Maybe Provape is making a killing, but maybe not. We have no idea what the cost of their operation is. No idea what is spent on advertising, rent, salaries, business & health insurance, paperclips, etc...

I used to work in the automotive industry and we charged $65 an hour for an employee we paid less than $20 an hour. This type of mark-up is common throughout all of industry. It's necessary to be profitable.

I appreciate the costs analysis posts as they give me something to think about or teach me something new but just not my "thing"....I've never been much of a price "haggler" when it comes to purchasing anything. If I like what your offering and the price your asking seems right I'm all good.:)

I think that's how most people price things. :)
