What mod (battery) are you using it on? What coils? What settings? What ration of liquid?

The PT II is an older low wattage tank. If you are using the newer cotton wicked coils, you may have to swap in a new coil or re-wick the old one because once it burns, it's going to stay that way. The older silica wicks can be dry burned and cleaned to some extent.

It is possible you tried too high a setting as these are more of a 10 watt or lower type of tank. Very high VG liquids may not wick well.

Am I supposed to remove the plastic piece before using?

I'm actually just using it on a simple vision spinner pen-type device, which is currently set at the max, 4.8

Could be a bum coil. Sometimes the premade factory coils are bad, it happens. Do you have a way to check the resistance of the coil to make sure it's what it's supposed to be?

Unfortunately it still tastes awful even after lowering the volts.

You have burnt the wick from to much voltage. Replace the coil head and start at 3 volts and go up until you like it. It is junk. Keep it so you can rebuild it

The PTII was the last tank I used. I got tired of buying coils and didn't like the flavor.
As people progress, they find their comfort level, for me, I haven't used a tank in almost three years. I love to rebuild my rdas the way I like for them to hit.
I sub ohm at .25 with a Goon/Rose Finch mech mod lol.

Even after replacing the coil it STILL tastes awful! Should I just toss this in the trash?

I have a Genesis atty that is exactly the same. It used to be fine but now just a horrible burnt taste. I have tried cleaning and sterilising it (fully stripped down), new juice, different/new coil, new and different wicking materials. I must have rebuilt it about 15 times trying different things but nothing changes. Still get a horrible taste.
Some one suggested to fit new O-rings but I can't as I don't have any spares that will fit, but I don't see how the o-rings could cause this as all they are doing is holding on the top cap. It's ....ing weird.
Any suggestions would be great [emoji173]️️

Hopefully, someone will help us figure it out, Phil P. I have had one of these before and it had no problems so I am totally perplexed. Even after changing the coil and juice, the flavor isn't right.
