I've let it sit to absorb the juice and am still getting an awful burnt taste

What kind of mod are you using it on? What do you have it set at?
I'm actually just using it on a simple vision spinner pen-type device, which is currently set at the max, 4.8

Could be a bum coil. Sometimes the premade factory coils are bad, it happens. Do you have a way to check the resistance of the coil to make sure it's what it's supposed to be?I'm actually just using it on a simple vision spinner pen-type device, which is currently set at the max, 4.8

Try it down more like 3.7 volts.
Unfortunately it still tastes awful even after lowering the volts.

The PTII was the last tank I used. I got tired of buying coils and didn't like the flavor. You have burnt the wick from to much voltage. Replace the coil head and start at 3 volts and go up until you like it. It is junk. Keep it so you can rebuild it

Even after replacing the coil it STILL tastes awful! Should I just toss this in the trash?

The burnt flavor is in the juice. Dump the juice and give it a bath
Get a new tank
Time to move on

This was a brand new tank, which was why I was asking, otherwise I would've tossed it

I have a Genesis atty that is exactly the same. It used to be fine but now just a horrible burnt taste. I have tried cleaning and sterilising it (fully stripped down), new juice, different/new coil, new and different wicking materials. I must have rebuilt it about 15 times trying different things but nothing changes. Still get a horrible taste.
Some one suggested to fit new O-rings but I can't as I don't have any spares that will fit, but I don't see how the o-rings could cause this as all they are doing is holding on the top cap. It's ....ing weird.
Any suggestions would be great [emoji173]️️
