If I had bought an E-cig from an online retailer, read the manual and started vaping, I would have no trouble throwing my $200 investment into the bin and deem E-cig as another gimmick. There are just too many variables in turning your E-cig try into a successful and viable alternative to the smoking experience. And the absence of otc retailers just makes things difficult.

Kudos to all here. And if you are refering friends to vape, steer them here first.

1 suggestion for the forum owner though... Is it possible to change the 5 post rule to allowing newbies to post in 1 sub regional forum (predetermined by their location) + newbie forum? The difference in treatment of E-Cigs in different Countries makes it essential for newbies to "get around" with the help of their own mates.

WELCOME TO THE ECF

Looks like you already have the required post number and so, you don't have to worry about it.

Hi washvap..thanks for the welcome.

When i decided to get my first PV, I had alot of trouble knowing the risk of importing, ways to get around local custom requirements, trying to get juice that are safe locally, etc..
Unable to post in country forum and unwilling to risk slapped with a fine, I flew 600kms to get my first Pv. It was after laying my hands on it that I could relate to vaping and chalking up 10+ posts..

It's better to keep all new members here for 5 posts. We get a lot of spammers and many of them are from other countries. And keeping them here where we can swat them quickly protects new members from bs marketeers.

New members can read the country forums right away.

And it's 5 posts OR replies (they can greet people etc) and an hour wait. It's not like they have to come up with 5 essays. Just not spam for post count like "this is 3"

No problem and yeah, dormouse is right. There's WAY to much spammers that come on here and go crazy. Having them stuck in the new members forum makes it easier to ban them. Thus, saving unsuspecting members from getting ripped off.

I get where you guys are coming from. But some seem to be spamming to get into the sub forums... hopefully someone comes out with a win win idea.

I totally agree. My situation was the same as you lol, bought an ego and had lots of trouble figuring out which is what. Spent the last few days reading through the forums and it really helped.

Most of the enclosed manuals are absolutely ridiculous. I'm actually surprised that nobody has yet light up an E-cig and kill themselves with an explosion.

On a more serious note, if there is a fatality by e-cig, I'll bet my money it will be misinformation and misuse.

Like vaping 100mg... better yet, drinking a 10mL or 30mL (1 oz) bottle of 100mg liquid (ie: a full 1 or 3 grams of nicotine)

...

This is why I had no problem donating to the ECF and becoming a Supporting Member.

The ECF has saved me at Least 10 times what becoming a Supporting Member cost me.
