I am posting this to get some feedback from people on how I can finally make the conversion to not smoking. I will give you a little background on myself. I am a 20+ year smoker who has tried quitting every way imaginable. I have done Zyban, Chantix, the patch, lasers, and of course the Ecig. My last time quitting was with an Ecig and that lasted all of about three months. I believe that my two biggest issues is convenience and durability. I mean besides the fact that it is hard to get the same satisfaction from an Ecig as a real cigarette.

So first issue convenience. In my great state of IL there are very few places that you can vape inside. So to have an Ecig you still have to go outside in sub zero weather with all of the smokers. And considering when I have been vaping I like to puff on it a lot more often than when smoking this is even more inconvenient. Then while at work I want to be able to quickly go out and have a vape. But this means carrying around heavy mod in my pocket instead of a nice light pack of cigarettes. And then I have to hope that the tank I use doesn't leak into my pockets ( I know that things have gotten better for this part). And if tried to find a lighter mod it wouldn't have the power to make it through an eight hour shift. So of course I have to carry more batteries and more juice. Which is also inconvenient.

My other issue is durability. I am a heavy metal fan and like to go to concerts and festivals. For the past three years I have brought an Ecig to a festival. I like to get the crowd elbow to elbow. Well in those years I have not had Ecig last past day one. One of the main issues is the connection from tank to mod. It gets bumped a few times and the threads strip. And then I can't get a good connection and the next thing you know I am smoking. It's pretty sad that a paper pack of cigarettes is more durable than a metal Ecig.

So if anyone has any great ideas to solve my issues so I can make another attempt to vape I would be interested.

You could go with a Provape Radius and Kabuki tank. It has a P3 connection that is a lot stronger than a 510.

In the nicest possible way, I'm thinking that you sure do have a lot of excuses. :) I know, because I'm the master of finding excuses to not kick the smokes completely.

I'm no expert on hardware, but there has to be something out there that suits your purposes. As far as satisfaction goes, have you looked into WTA? Again, I'm no expert but you can read about it here. Angry Vaper - About WTA

Where there's a will, there's a way. That's what I keep telling myself anyway. :)

Hey i live in IL myself and most places i can vape but some chi subs have banned it. The tuffest cheap little mod out there now is the eleaf basic its 2500 or 2000mah cant remember. But either way should last 8+ hours. The only down side is the tank is small so a 5ml plastic bottle of juice would be needed to refill. But for 20$ and practically indestructible how can ya go wrong.

The "satisfaction" is that I don't continue to abuse myself. I read a lot of "I can't".

"I" can. I was/am committed. I prepared myself with attitude, information, purchase, practice and sharing the benefits. Change may not be easy, but it is always possible.

A few years ago vaping anywhere was one of the things that made vaping enticing. Unfortunately regulations have begun to strip away that advantage.

There are, however, many other advantages which I don't need to list here. Perhaps a self contained unit like an egrip, nebox, or new istick basic might suit your needs.

Cant you just remove your tank from the mod before entering crowds? One issue solved.

Welcome. Glad to have you. Once I got my MVP 3 pro I've been very satisfied. Its been dropped multiple times and works good as new. I've even dropped just the pyrex tank glass part multiple times hasn't broke yet. I chain Vape all day and the battery stays charged for two full days prolly lil longer. Just plug phone looking charger in it that comes with it. Very easy and no taking in and out batteries. And I paid only 50$ for whole setup. I love it.

I love in Illinois....I work at a government facility (University Civil Service) and smoking and vaping are not allowed anywhere on campus except your vehicle...in in the same boat as the starter of this thread...I can't seem to make the jump....my problem is that if I up the nicotine level it's too harsh...lowering helps but it's not satisfying....a lot of people would say we are making excuses but that's just shrink talk for telling someone they are weak in their opinion...everyone is different...it's not that he doesn't love vaping enough to change...its that this liberal infested country we live in sucks.

Have you ever tried sub ohm vape before? When i started i was on an aspire mini with 24 mg nic but now that i sub im at 8mg. Just a thought than you can still get the nic level but not as harsh. Also harshness is usually from pg so if you go with a 70% vg it would help alot.

I do sub ohm...I use a TFV4 with the dual rba at .5 ohms....love it. I DIY my juices at 50/50 6 mg nic as a base.

If you can tolerate 15W, at least while getting rowdy at music festivals, look into an Innokin VTR. It's a hunk of steel that will take more of a beating than you - or any other metalhead - can throw at it. I hacked off the tank/"beauty" ring so that a steel Kayfun V1 could sit in its place with no extension and that was the most durable setups I've ever owned.

As for light & powerful mods for work, there are countless setups out there now to choose from. 2 18650's will last most people at least a day of fairly heavy use. Some mods incorporate 3 18650's now. If you're not sub-ohming and keeping your wattage at reasonable levels, there's no reason a 5ml tank can't last you a work day. Even if it doesn't last, carrying around an extra 15ml bottle in your pocket isn't going to add any noticeable weight.

And, like others have mentioned, vaping may just not be for you. Especially if you're convincing yourself that cigarettes are a more rational option for getting your nic fix. I tried all the cessation methods you mentioned, too. None of them worked. With the exception of vaping, that is. See if you can make it past the three month mark. Then the six. Year. And so on. I've slipped and bummed a cigarette from friends on very rare occasions. I can't stand their taste now, or their smell. They simply revolt me now and that's very convenient for me, as I have no intentions on ever picking the disgusting habit back up again.
