This is like asking a bow hunter why they don't just use a gun, or better yet, get the meat from Walmart.

Good analogy. It's like when my neighbor pulled up in his new Lexus, asking what I was working on under my Dodge, I explained that I was rebuilding the valve body of my tranny, and I knew he had no clue what I was talking about. :) That guy can't even figure out how to do his own oil change. I didn't care. I proceeded to go on about the solenoids and conductor plate and all the troubleshooting I did to save thousands of bucks, until he walked away simultaneously confused and enlightened.

Why not enjoy both? I "collect" every type of device there is! :)

I use regulated cheapies like the evod mega at work since I am constantly in the rain, snow, mud, dirt etc.. When at home I use one of my many mech mods and when I'm out and about I take a high powered regulated device.

All of them have their ups and downs, but each one a unique experience. In my case they all serve a purpose lol.
Wouldn't it make more sense to use a cheap clone mech when you're in the snow, rain, mud, whatever else? I feel confident that my mech could live in a snow bank all winter and it wouldn't require anything more than a good cleaning and polishing in the spring. That can't be said for any regulated device.

Hmmm.....

Another thread starting a mechanical vs regulated debate where the OP starts a topic and vanishes.
3 pages of replies and not a single comment from the OP.

What happened OP, Bridge get flooded?

I agree with you Ninja. No matter if the OP is involved or just monitoring the discussion in which they started, I think for me anyhow, it's a topic of interest for many and that's why these threads continue.
Now my story lol. My first mech was a rough stack POS. So I used regulated for many years with many failed boards. I got sick of doing the RMA thing. I have many regulated devices collecting dust right now. I still buy them, but I have made a swing towards mechs. I like the look, feel, size and ability to control my vape. I have been very satisfied now that I use mechs. I still use regulated, even have a dna 40, but for me, nothing comes close to a well built mech.

Seems to be that most people get them due to the raw factor.
They want to be a bare minimum this is just me and the atomiser here I don't need any circuitry getting in the way.
I got one coming my way , mostly due to curiosity. I don't expect it to be as good as a regulated device. Seems to be most useful on a small resistance window.
Most seem to be cheap enough as they should be.
