With the price of PG, VG and flavoring I fail to understand why the big web players and the local shops are selling it at such a high price. The small shops with low sales volume an higher price may be understandable but not for the high volume web sites.

I tried some of the cheaper chinese products and did not see a difference with others. Unkonwn or Inadequate quality control keeps me away from those.

I have started to make my own as the end price is on average about 10 times less.:2c: I would certainly quit making my own if I could pay a fair price for commercial e-liquids. 2 to 3 times my cost but no more. I guess it is a matter of principle as much as economical

Just 'cause its from China, dont think its bad. Or that USA ones are good... There are many examples of sweat shop type e-juice vendors posted here on ECF..

As long as people are willing to pay $15-$20 for a 30ml bottle of juice, there will vendors who will offer it at those prices. They charge what the traffic will bear. I personally don't mind paying those prices; I like certain juices and even at those prices, juice only costs me a spend a fraction of what I used to spend on store-bought smokes. Can a smoker save money by rolling his own, or a vaper by DIY'ing? You bet, but I doubt a majority of them ever will, unless of course the gang of criminals in DC leaves them no other choice.

Yeah, DeKang and Hangsen probably have better quality control than 99 % of U.S. vendors. Yhey certainly have state of the art clean rooms. Seen the pictures. There might be a problem when others refill and repackage the product though. I can't be sure this goes on, but have heard rumors.

I dunno if I'd say that the prices USA vendors charge for liquid are get rich quick prices by any means. Also, all the money your saving on liquid your wasting on cartos. 30 a week? You could use USA liquid and still save a but load ifyou just bought a rba. Buy a gp heron if you like cartos

... The 100 $ restaurant analogy does not really fit, except for those who only vape on special occasions. For them it may be allright to pay 15$\20$ for a 30ml bottle of a special, hard to reproduce flavor.

For chain vapors like me, a big Mac is a better exemple, at 5.00 $ it is only about twice what it would cost me for a similar burger whereas the difference between 30ml DYI for 1.50$ and 15$ for 30ml of commercial e-juice, (or more), is over 10 times the cost of DYI. ( btw as any DYI vaper will tell you, it is more complicated to make a Big Mac than to mix the ingredients of e-juices).

All those arguments about the high cost of doing business to charge those prices are excuses for the uninformed.

Fact - The cost of doing business adds a significant amount to the service or product price no matter the business. If you had ever run a successful business you would understand that.

Fact - as long as enough people are willing to pay $27.50 for 30ml of Five Pawns or $22 for 30ML for Suicide Bunny juices, the product is priced right.

Fact - Their products are not made for everyone, they know that, their prices are by design, and they have no need or want to sell to the greater masses for a lessor price. Some people have Big Mac taste, others have Moët et Chandon Dom Pérignon taste.

Great videos for Hangsen and Boge/Dakang and yet they have ZERO gloves. All those face masks and special clothing and yet naked/uncovered hands.

I can't be the only person to see there is something very wrong with that.

And how many US vendors do you suppose use gloves? I have yet to see a B&M mix juice with gloves... or glasses, or a smock, or anything but a paper towel.

Honestly not a clue, but to tout some Chinese examples of clean, sterile, and safe rooms and have them all without gloves just immediately struck me as wrong. I went no further than that and it was nothing more than an observation of those videos. Nothing more and nothing less in this case.

The whole point of a for profit business is to deliver a quality product at prices the market dictates for that product. Charge too much and there won't be enough customers to stay in business. Charge too little and the business fails.
The 2 largest juice vendors by volume-Halo and Johnson Creek are above the median in terms of pricing. Perhaps they are able to grow their businesses by not setting their e-liquid pricing at the bottom of the market...

Bottom line, you either pay for ready mixed juice or DIY. Speaking strictly from my own experience, I wasted a lot of money trying to chase down a cheap pre-made juice that I considered good enough for an adv; I can tell you that of the dozens I tried, none of them were worth re-ordering. After trying the more expensive juices, like Ahlusion and Suicide Bunny to name a couple, I discovered juices I loved and that have become advs for me. I keep my costs down by taking advantage of sales and I also learned to recoil.

Oh, and by the way, if you think juice prices are too expensive now, you're really gonna be shocked when the greedy powers that be start taxing juice at the rates they want to put into place. Best get started on reading up on DIY now, cause it's only a matter of time until we'll be talking about the good 'ol days when quality pre-made juice was $20-$30 for 30mls.....

Absolutely. Although I refuse to be bothered with DIY juice right now, I sock away some 100mg nic base in the freezer every month, 'cause I expect the day will come when it will be worth my while to DIY.

The problem is when some customers confuse price with taste and claim they're getting Dom Pérignon, pushing others into spending the money to try it who in turn are convinced because of the price it must be good.
Perception plays a big part in taste for a lot of people.
Fact - Many are afraid to stand up and point out the emperor has no clothes for fear of being told they don't know what's good.

Same here, DIY is not something I want to get into yet but I've got a nic stash in the freezer too.

I see a lot of defense for higher than normal prices. I'd be curious to know who has a vested interest here and who is just compliant.

This forum is rife with people who think that the world is out to screw them.....look at the clone/authentic threads as well.

Think it's too much? make your own, sell it, and get rich.

Everybody is doing it, right? It's so easy to come up with a juice that not only you like, but so do thousands of others, and they like it so much that they pass up all of your hundreds of competitors to get yours.

Simple to do. Easy to accomplish. Cheap to start the business. What are we all doing posting in the forum, when there is money to be made :)

Where they actually making juice in those videos using their hands ? I would assume the juice making process is mechanized when they make juice at the volume they do. I have seen a couple of videos as well, but they looked like videos showing off the equipment. Didn't see anyone handling anything, unless we are talking about different videos. How many U.S. vendors have you seen making videos of their production facilities ( mom's basement ? )

edit : i don't mean all U.S. vendors btw, i just think the blanket statement that U.S. vendors are more trustworthy as far as quality control and cleanliness, is ridiculous. We have a completely unregulated industry where anything goes atm, unfortunately. Lot's of due diligence should be exercised ( as much as possible anyway )before committing to a vendor.

i don't know, maybe they want to make money? have you run a business?

has anyone thought that diy suppliers aren't making profit? why doesn't everyone and their brother complain about them ripping you off? i mean, you could save .000000000001% if they weren't gouging you. I'm great at peaches and cantaloupe and sweet tarts. but it's much different mixing 8 flavors. on the other hand if you have the time and a knack for it, it's very gratifying to diy. just like changing your oil but i don't have time or the inclination to change oil.

people ask me all the time, are drums hard to learn to play? i say no, almost anyone can play, just hit the snare drum with a stick..you're a drummer now. but if you want to know how long it takes to be great that's a totally different question. 8 hours a day everyday for years and years is where great is possible. most sane people aren't interested. that's why us drummers are hitting on one cylinder. but it's all good. we aren't dragging on death machines anymore.

happy 4th--vapers rock no matter how they get their juice.
