I did order trials and they were disappointing to a fault. I didn't give up I just kept searching until I found this site. I thought e-cigs were a matter of putting part A into part B and that was it. Right, also charging the unit. I come here to find out about companies. Instead there is lingo, so many parts, options galore, etc. Now I really don't know where to start. Is there a link to a posting that breaks e-cigs down piece by battery, by juice, by piece. I've never been on a forum before so I hope I can find my posting once I click on the "Submit New Thread."

I scrolled down to find more options. Where is my control panel?

Thanks, ncwyeth

I agree, I have had several people express interest in switching to a PV from analogs, but I almost warn against it, as I don't think most people have the patience for the trial and error, and all the research necessary for a decent vaping experience. Hopefully the technology improves before the FDA finds a way to screw it all up.

IMO, the best thing about e-cigs is that you can make it as easy or as complicated as you want.

Go to vapor4life.com and you'll find the kind where you screw part A into part B and vape (and recharge of course).

....or.... you can go to the modders forum and diy forum and make everything from scratch.....

However you like it.

Good luck! :)

yep ecigarettes are very simple or complicated, similar to analog smoking, lots of people are trying to stake a claim into the building industry and try and get big enough to survive regulation. I am very fortunate to have the totally wicked vapor lounge near by because most companies do not have a brick and morter store front. Totally wicked and vermont vapor are the only ones that I know of that do. Liberty Flights and nic fit nation are also well layed out e-stores with good information.
there are lots of good dedicated review sites out there as well.
vapenstein , ecigology , grimm green , E-Cig-Reviews.com - Electronic cigarette and E-Liquid video reviews, tutorials, user guides and discount codes

Also, if you read about a model that peaks your interest, do a web search for what others have to say about it. An invaluable tool I used was YouTube while I was trying to make my decision. The world of vaping is a trial and error type of thing, but quickly after you order and try out your PV it won't take long to find out what work's and what doesn't based on your tastes. Once you have that down, it will be pretty much just 'screw part A to part B, charge, fill, and go'. :p

I totally agree with the original poster's point. I've been at this since January, I've been through mods ranging from the Ego-T, Reo Grand, All'i, Provari and Darwin.

Still, I'm totally baffled in a lot of areas. I've basically used standard attys. Cartos, clearomizers, giantomizers (something like that), MAP tanks, CE3 (or whatever) are stuff I don't really understand..

One thing to keep in mind, though, is that e-cig world isn't so much different from the tobacco world. That world ranges from roll-your-own cigs to cigars ranging from 25 cents to 10s of dollars a piece, to pipes that go for a few dollars all the way up to stuff that's so expensive, they make the most pricey e-cig mods seem like pocket change.

At the same time, we're very much where home computers were in the early 80s... IBM and Apple... along with the Coleco Adam, the Commodore Whatever, the Tandy whatever, the TI whatever, the Mattel Aquarius (yes, there was such a thing), etc., etc., etc.

It's the nature of a new technology.

Ultimately, it isn't the amount of information. I have found it is the way that information is received/discovered that creates the frustration. Reading the guides will probably require a bit more time to start with but will work wonders in helping you understand the big picture. In other words, a bit of a pain the in the beginning but it speeds up the learning curve.

This forum was my friend for a month before I even bought anything. You tube helped also. It can be frustrating but after 1 month I am down to 1 analog in the morning. Go at your own pace and look at the big picture. This is harder than smoking but for me worth every frustration.

I ended up buying a 510 starter kit, extra battery, some juice and atomizer. Watched vid's on everything and then tried a few of there ideas and went from there.

Good luck
You came to the right place.

This post just really boggles my mind. You warn against someone switching from cigarettes to vaping because it's too complicated? Seriously?

The technology IS changing...every day we hear about new models, atomizers, cartomizers...you name it. I think that it's gotten simpler for me even in just the 8 months that I've been vaping. I can only imagine that it's just that much better for all of the people who have been vaping for a year or more.

I can't imagine warning someone NOT to vape. I try to encourage everyone who asks about it because it's worth a little "trial and error" to get back YEARS on your life!
